.....how has Skyrim been running since all the DLC originally released on PSN? Is is mostly fixed and running well?

Posted on Apr 27, 2013 10:45:56 PM PDT
Yes. Update 1.5 fixed 85% of the issues, and now with update 1.9 the game runs really smooth. You can still find a bug here and there, keeping in mind how huge this game is,a few bugs are not really a deal breaker.

I'm more concerned with the frame-rate over an extended period of time than anything else.

Does the PS3 version also have the 1.9 (I think) Patch as well, or does only the PC version have it?

C. Labye says:
My save file clocks in at over 12 MB and framerate is about 98% resolved. It can stutter occasionally and it's not 100% perfect, but it's completely playable (as opposed to "what the hell happened during the last 5 seconds" game play).

Good to hear. To let you know, there are ways to decrease your save file size in the off chance that it helps performance, for instance like letting 30 in-game days pass so items and bodies reset/disappear, etc.

A customer says:
I really hope that the R3 axis is not screwed up in this game like in Oblivion. It doesn't move right and when you draw an arrow and try to aim it moves really slow. I know because I bought the game for my PS3 and hated it, so I sent it back for a refund. If you want Oblivion, by the way, get it for PC. Trust me, it's better on the PC and I am not really sure how it qualified for a "Greatest Hits" title. Bethesda paid to have that displayed on the game case, there are other games that are WAY BETTER than Oblivion that are not a "Greatest Hits" title. Just a bit of side information for you.

I was hesitant to pre-order this because of the issues I had with Oblivion, so hopefully I won't be sending this back as well.

Greatest Hits = lots of sales.

A customer says:
Right. And games such as New Vegas, Far Cry 3, etc. are not "Greatest Hits" titles and, in my opinion, are way better than Oblivion on the PS3.

Even after the release of New Vegas Ultimate Edition there are still problems with the game. I am hoping that most of the issues with Skyrim Legendary Edition are resolved, but I am not counting on anything. Bethesda really needs to learn how to release games on the PS3 that are not bugged up... Hire new programmer's Bethesda!

I am, however, really looking forward to playing this edition of the game on my PS3. On Tuesday, that is. Are you getting this?

I personal had no problems with Oblivion outside of the vampire glitch with the GotY Edition, so I think all of those games are great.

I don't plan on buying the Skyrim LE right away. It's too expensive considering I already own the regular version. Maybe at $19.99 - 29.99 I'll buy it.

A customer says:
Yeah, take your time. I don't normally pre-order games but I did for this one because I like it so much. I have the standard edition for PC but I wanted to wait for the complete edition before buying a second copy for the PS3.

By the way, have you tried out either BioShock Infinite or Far Cry 3 yet?

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 1, 2013 1:19:35 PM PDT
I really like Far Cry 3, my only complaint is that I wish it ran better on PS3. I haven't gotten around to picking up Bioshock Infinite yet but I know it's great. The first one is one of my very favorite games.

A customer says:
Really? Other people were telling me that Far Cry 3 runs fine on the PS3. Absolutely, BioShock 1 and 2 are a few of my favorite games.

Screen-tearing and frame-rate issues abound.

Does the game run better on the 360?

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 3, 2013 11:04:27 AM PDT
Only very slightly. Basically the same.

A customer says:
Well, I have thought about getting a 360 for games like Skyrim, New Vegas and Far Cry 3, because those games have issues on the PS3 and those are my favorite games, you know. Regarding the gamma correction, the PS3 is just the opposite, I usually end up lowering the brightness.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-far-cry-3-face-off

Here's an in-depth article explaining the difference between versions of Far Cry 3.

"Far Cry 3 aims for 30FPS on console but in-game it rarely attains it. In the most intense scenes frame-rate descends south of 20FPS, with a small 360 lead."
