5.0 out of 5 stars Can't Sleep? These cured my tossing and turning...
I have a hectic job and stressful personal life and have frequent sleepless nights. I bought any earlier album by Jeffrey Thompson called Delta Sleep System. I cannot recommend enough that you try these. It is like insurance to know when I need them, I WILL SLEEP. Natural Music for Sleep and Soothin Music (above) are my favorites for sleep, but the Classical works and...

2.0 out of 5 stars Soothing is not how I would describe this.
I have this CD, and the other three in the series, Natural, Classical and Ambient. This one is the exact opposite of soothing to me. The constant plunking sound reminds me of a kid's toy piano...and I have tried to like it. I decided to rotate the four CDs each night. This one irritates me so much that I have yet to get to sleep without changing to something...

This is probably a personal thing, but I suggest you listen to the clip available on Amazon before you buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very soothing!!, May 6, 2008

I was looking for some bedtime/sleep music, and this is perfect! Very mellow, slow and soothing! Just wonderful! You have to hear it for yourself, though. There are just two tracks, both around an hour or so, which works very well for sleeping. Maybe not something you want to listen to during the day, unless you want to take a break from stress and relax, or even meditate, I suppose!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not part of the solution for me. Part of the problem., July 21, 2010

This review is from: Soothing Music for Sleep (Audio CD)
The music begins with promise, reassuring the would-be sleeper with deep, mellow, rhythmic undertones and a pleasant guitar melody. Piano tinkles in, a trifle stiff but timed well.

After awhile, you may be drifting off. Then, without warning, some rascal cuts loose with high, sharp, irregularly-timed bangs on the keyboard. This is no gentle, hesitant Nora The Piano Cat composition. It stridently overlays some of the soothing parts, with no discernible aim or pattern. Briefly infuriating in an otherwise dead-quiet room when you are trying to sleep.

The good news is, the irritating piano goes away and the friendly guitar comes back. If you don't care for jazz noodling, the piano part can shatter your repose. If you do, well, sweet dreams! I'll try the other Delta Sleep Solution cd's at my library for better musical compatibility.

Different things help different people sleep. Here's some links of cd's that I have fallen asleep to. I hope you find something to help you, too!
Shepherd Moons
A Day Without Rain
Amarantine
Across an Ocean of Dreams
The Earth The Sea The Sky... and Beyond: An Environmental Experience (2-disc set - I like the 1st cd, Rainforest and Sea Suite, not the 2nd)
Lifescapes: Rain And Thunder
Blink

If you have trouble falling asleep this will help for sure. I have actually gone out and purchased a few more of his CDs because I liked this one so much.
