At the time this 1989 book was written, William Alnor was news editor for Walter Martin's Christian Research Journal. He has also written such books as Ufo Cults and the New Millennium, Ufo's in the New Age: Extraterrestrial Messages and the Truth of Scripture, and Heaven Can't Wait: A Survey of Alleged Trips to the Other Side.

He states in the Introduction, "This book is a call for all teachers of Bible prophecy to match their own teachings with God's Word and His call for righteous judgment (John 7:24) and sober reasoning (1 Peter 4:7). These teachers who are heard over hundreds of radio stations and TV networks daily throughout the world think they are serving the Lord. Instead they are doing great damage to the cause of Christ."

"We could all learn from Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel, Costa Mesa, California. Smith could have once been considered a date setter... Today Smith is under the conviction that setting any kind of date or timetables for things that are in God's hands is wrong. He says we can believe in the 'imminency of the return of Christ without setting dates' because 'no one knows the day or the hour.'" (Pg. 41)
"(Quoting James McKeever) As far as the SWIFT system in Brussels being called 'the beast,' I've installed many, many computer systems and there is rarely one that somebody doesn't call 'the beast,' 'the monster' or something even less complementary when he is having difficulties debugging it and shaking down the system." (Pg. 77)
"(About John Todd) Ed Plowman, formerly of Christianity Today, and others eventually exposed Todd as a fraud with a police record, who had served prison time for corrupting the morals of children and had undergone psychological care. Todd 'stormed out' of the Melodyland Christian Center in Anaheim, California, amid accusasions... that he was seducing young girls." (Pg. 131)
"(I)t would be advisable for today's soothsayers and prophets to take heed before carelessly proclaiming, 'thus saith the Lord,' when referring to extrabiblical judgments concerning the coming of the Lord and His judgments." (Pg. 205)
