If wo/mankind survives our current path of mutually assured destruction, John Lash will one day be recognized as the main proponent and explicator of Deep Gaian Spirituality and the revealer of the Sophianic Wisdom myth of (ongoing and perpetual) world creation that helped re-establish the absolutely vital connection between humanity and the living divinity of Gaia, embodied as planet earth.

Whereas James Cameron used $300 million worth of CGI filmmaking in "Avatar" to open a much needed window to a global audience on what we've lost and what we can realize in terms of our relationship with the living biosphere, in "Sophia Returning" John Lash uses 60 minutes in an Amsterdam hotel to unpack the nuts and bolts of the Gaia/Sophia story of creation that he first presented in his magnum opus book "Not in His Image: Gnostic Vision, Sacred Ecology, and the Future of Belief". Lash has re-created and revealed THE planetary and cosmic myth of our time, one that addresses the key issues facing humanity at this definitive juncture in our history - Creation Myth, Gaian Spirituality v. the virus of Abrahamic Monotheism, terrorism, sustainability, virtual reality, our acknowledgment of and relationship to the living biosphere, and how we can come to our senses and make the necessary corrections before it's too late.

The real revolution will not be won in the streets by blind followers of religious dogma intent on converting or killing heathens and non-believers to the literalist outer-shell teachings of their off-planet sky gods. The real revolution will occur when humanity wakes from its monotheistic trance and throws off the shackles of blind faith to an inorganic Demiurge intent on deviating us from our rightful role in the fulfillment of Sophianic Wisdom. Gaia/Sophia is awakening and returning - the choice is ours whether to imaginatively participate with the living earth in patterns of mutually assured sustainable creation, or continue on our current path of mutually assured confusion and destruction.

I always find Lash to be an interesting person. This effort gives a brief overview of his research. I did not find it to the best representation of his work. I am currently reading his book "Not In His Image". Well written and very interesting thus far.

The issue I have with the production is the frivolous graphics used while Lash is talking. It seemed like a production for children as opposed to adults. The graphics are eye candy without any relevance to what Lash is talking about. I found them distracting.

For those on the evolutionary path of the living planet,author John Lamb Lash leads us through a wonderful presentation of Planetary Tantra which is our guiding path enabling us to survive the earth changes we are under going. I highly recommend it.

This was my first encounter with John Lamb Lash, but I knew he had a lot of material out, and to be connected to Sacred Mysteries, I felt I would really enjoy his work. My impression from watching this DVD, is that Mr. Lash is a story-teller, who has researched ancient stories. That is exactly what you get, however, I was hoping to find out about the link to the stories that shows the truth behind them. Unfortunately, no link is provided, they are just stories from antiquity. I don't have trouble believing in alternative theory as long as there's at least some bits of truth thrown in, but without at least a little fact, stories such as "Sophia Returning," becomes outlandish and a bit over the top. Possibly Mr. Lash presents the information he has found, and it's then left up to the audience to use their imagination to determine, or just speculate, whether the stories he tells are true or false. If that is his goal, I would say he does a fine job in that, it's just not what I was looking for. You may enjoy this type of work, but I found it boring and a waste of my hard earned money. William Henry does similar work, but he follows leads and uncovers information that makes his stories believable, and is able to show us parts of the hidden truth that's been kept from us. I was hoping Lash's presentation was closer to what Henry does.
