Other reviewers have described this book superbly. I just wanted to add that Sophia's Secret is The Winter Sea. Check THE WINTER SEA's reviews. Kearsley's publishers opted to re-name it for the paperback edition. So if you are looking for The Winter Sea and run across this book that is titled differently grab it. You'll be happy that you did.
