This review is from: Sophie Milman: Live in Montreal (DVD)
I agree with the first reviewer that her band members receive too much camera time. Ms. Milman is a real beauty and it's a shame that we don't see more of her on this video. Her peformance is flawless in this live setting and she has great stage presence. She pauses briefly between numbers to tell little stories about her very interesting life. As a child, she moved from the Ural mountains of Russia to Isreal and then eventually to Canada. I believe that she speaks French fluently , so I was a little suprised that she spoke mostly English to her Montreal audience. One little complaint is that the concert runs no more than an hour, but the interview with Sophie Milman is much longer than that. I would suggest first going to the settings menu on this disc before watching the concert. The audio improved when I switched it to 5.1 surround.

Best Singer in the World!,

This review is from: Sophie Milman: Live in Montreal (DVD)
Sophie Milman is the best singer in the world and this DVD is a one hour concert video of a performance in Montreal. If you are new to Sophie Milman, you should buy her albums first. If you are already a fan, then you have to buy this video. Most of the songs come from her second album, "Make Someone Happy." There is one song, "Bye Bye Love," which is not on either album. The video quality is good, although it suffers from too much camera movement and they spend too much time away from Sophie. (People buy a Sophie Milman video to see Sophie, not the other musicians.) The sound quality is good but appears to be mono instead of stereo. I almost forgot to mention, in addition to being the best singer in the world, she is also the best looking. If you are a Sophie Milman fan, you will love this video.
