This is an amazing book! "Sophie Paraskova" is a wonderful historical novel that tells of the anarchist movement in the United States as well as the lives of 19th century Jewish immigrants in New York and life in Russia during the same period.
The story is gripping, the setting is brilliantly described and brought to life and the characters have amazing depth. Sophie, herself, is destined to be a classic literary character. Coincidentally, my family lived on Norfolk St., the same block that
Sophie lived on in this book. Perhaps that is part of the reason why I loved it so.

I liked the history, political references, and words, I learned from reading this wonderful novel about New York City in the 19th century. Very informative and an excellent read - highly enjoyed and would recommend it to all.
