Book Description

January 15, 1999
Charles Sutton, sexy ghost, has been and can be anything he wants. If he were to present himself in your living room and ask you to be the author of his confession, would you refuse? I think not. Your fear would evaporate in the aura of his charisma, and you would be compelled to travel with him on a magical odyssey of the bizarre and the impossible. You would probably fall in love with him, learn more about life than you imagined, see to the root of unsolvable problems, and in short, be a better you for the effort. In reliving more than 250 years of his past lives, Sutton is a lover, a murderer, a mortal and a ghost, does battle with his nemesis, and comes to terms with both his dark side and his potential for good. This is his story to date.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"...THE SORCERER'S CONFESSION is a tour-de-force novel that fans of historical thrillers or supernatural tales must read. Each era is brilliantly and exhileratingly described, convincing the reader that Charles Sutton's memoirs are genuine. Susannah Morgan is clearly a sorcerer as this reviewer confesses that the metaphysical journey into the past two centuries was one of the most entertaining and enlightening trips in years. Hopefully, Ms. Morgan will conjur up more novels like this delightful tale." --Harriet Klausner

"...Good for the soul...Whether you believe in ghosts and sorcerers, or not, the basic premise of this book is entertaining. And whether you agree with the characters assessments of good and evil, the ideas and questions they raise will at least give you pause and make you wonder about your own relationship to society, your loved ones and yourself." --NewTimes

"THE SORCERER'S CONFESSION is especially commended to those readers who enjoy a bit of the metaphysical and magical in their fiction. THE SORCERER'S CONFESSION is a unique, exceptionally well written, tour-de-force saga by Susannah Morgan, whose next novel will be eagerly awaited by those who have thoroughly enjoyed this, her first appearance in print." --James A Cox, Midwest Book Reviews

About the Author

THE SORCERER'S CONFESSION was originally published by a small company that went out of business right after the first printing. Nonetheless, copies have made their way around the globe. I had planned to write the Sequel immediately but life got in the way. I have continued my study of the occult and the spiritual, met a true healer, raised three daughters, and lived, in general, a plan that I did not make. When John Lennon said that Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans, he was right. I have learned to appreciate the life that happens. The Second book in the series, THE SORCERER'S PROMISE, is now available on Kindle. I blog, for fun and a chance to vent at susannahmorganbooks.com

More About the Author

Susannah Morgan was born in Toronto, Canada, as the first child of four. She has explored philosophies and religions beginning with the Anglican Church as a child. Her journey to writing THE SORCERER'S CONFESSION has taken her through the gamut of associations from New Agers, Druids and Buddhists to Jesuit priests and Asian healers.

THE SORCERER'S CONFESSION was originally published by a small company in 1998 that went out of business. It has become somewhat of a cult classic in that copies are read and loaned on the average of 5 times per book. The original print run is now being sold as a Limited First Edition.

Following the advice of John Locke, an excellent Kindle writer, who is extremely well read, Susannah has published the Kindle edition of THE SORCERER'S CONFESSION at 99c.

She says, "The purpose of writing is to be read. I want to make my work easily affordable for readers."

Susannah's concept behind her protagonist, Charles Sutton, sorcerer and ghost, is that human foibles are small in comparison to his crimes; that the road to enlightenment may be long and steep, but it does end.

The second book in THE SORCERER SERIES, THE SORCERER'S PROMISE, is now available on Kindle.

This review is from: The Sorcerer's Confession (Paperback)
I am primarily a nonfiction reader, so when a friend gave me a copy of "The Sorcerer's Confession", I wasn't expecting too much. After the first 20 pages, I couldn't put it down. Morgan spins a tale that takes you around the world, through great moments in history, and even multiple states of being- all through the tortured mind of a wonderfully duplicitous sorcerer. Entangled in a dark, cosmic struggle to be free of the evil that conceived him, the sorcerer's confession is awash in gripping intrigue, erotic interludes, and powerful forces, played out by a beautifully developed cast of characters. I am anxiously awaiting Morgan's next great work!

5.0 out of 5 stars A romp through the centuries with a charming monster., July 13, 1998

Charles B. Parselle (Los Angeles, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Sorcerer's Confession (Paperback)
In Charles Sutton, author Susannah Morgan has created a thoroughly engaging, and quite deadly, character for the reader to follow with horror and amusement on a macabre ride down the centuries, as the loveable monster (officially "Assassin to the Crown")loves and murders his way from the bloody tumbrils of the French Revolution to the slave plantations of the New World. On the way, he learns a thing or two about life, the universe and stuff like love. This is a rollicking read, full of inventiveness and wit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thought-provoking and wonderful - highly recommended!, October 29, 2011
Charles Sutton is a sorcerer and a ghost. He lived his mortal life in the 18th century, and was killed during the French Revolution. Now he has contacted Katherine - Kate to her friends - in order to dictate to her his confession, in an attempt to rid himself of the negativity and connection to his old sorcerer master.

That is the basic premise of the story, and the idea of Charles as a ghost who steals the bodies of others in his attempts to communicate with humans was such a good one that I was hooked. I begged the author to let me read and review these books for her (including the sequel, "The Sorcerer's Promise"); thankfully, she agreed. Watching the life and afterlife of Charles unfold was fascinating; the characters are so well-drawn that they feel like my friends, and I was sad to finish the book. However, I am excited to read the next one. In addition to a fascinating, and obviously well-researched, story, the book provides some wonderful metaphysical truths about being, consciousness and how to best live in this world. I highly recommend this most wonderful book to people who enjoy a good story, a strongly reality-based historical fantasy, and those who are searching for enlightenment. While there are a number of scenes that are quite dark, it is all part of Charles' life path, and important to the story. Read it - you'll love it as much as I did!
