This review is from: A Sorcerer's Cookbook: Recipes for Enchantment from Aphrodite's Oysters to Violet Bonbons (Hardcover)
This is the best reading type cookbook I have ever seen! Beautiful cookbook, interesting recipes, the format is really splendid. I suggest it to anyone. The only reason I even thought about giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is that some of the main ingredients are not easy to find, unless you are in a big city with specialty food stories pr have a good local market. There are some spells with easier to access ingredients that should be YUMMY! I think I might try those first. Five stars just had to win, so I just might be surfing foodie websites for the rarer ingredients. The bits and pieces of info spread through the pages are entertaining, as well as informative. The author has done a great job with her food "homework." She gives background on the ingredients, and she does an excellent job with sticking with the grimoire theme of the whole book.
Do buy this for any "foodie" you know. If he/she loves reading cookbooks, then this will be one of their favorites! |
