4.0 out of 5 stars Good WICCAN Sorcery
Okay, I know its important, but if I could go two minutes without having the Rede thrown out at me, than I would. And the "sorcerer's code", which most sorcerer's don't use, is just wiccan principals all over again. The usual Wiccan overemphasis on the Goddess and glossing over of the God. I really liked the attractive presentation throughout the book and the very user-friendly approach to all the material. It was simple, light and readable.

Okay, I know its important, but if I could go two minutes without having the Rede thrown out at me, than I would. And the "sorcerer's code", which most sorcerer's don't use, is just wiccan principals all over again. The usual Wiccan overemphasis on the Goddess and glossing over of the God. The psychic excersises were good. And some of the spells (charm an animal, create a visual illusion) were awesome! Overall, the majority of the book is beginer's stuff. However, the psychic development excersizes (which, as another reviewer noted, are watered down versions of Initiation into Hermetics) and the creative spells, plus the definition of different types of magic, high vs. low, arcane, shadow, etc. was intermediate level, I would say.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have for any practitioner, November 19, 2001

This book is by far one of the most useful I have seen in a while. Mr. Clark goes in depth about the whys and hows of magic, exercises to help one improve one's success rate, and covers areas a lot of other books skip completely. Well written so anyone can read it, and in depth enough that everyone can get something out of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Magick for Pagans, September 15, 2002
This review is from: Sorcerer's Handbook: Real Magick at Your Fingertips (Paperback)
I would have to state that this is not the type of Magick which is practiced by the Golden Dawn as most people are looking for. This is more of a Pagan Magick Handbook. I'm not really into Pagan Magick, but this book has its title. I'm giving 5 stars for the contents and the rituals used. Precisely written and informative. It covers the basic line of shadow, enchantment, nature, and arcane magick.
These magick are mostly low magick, but they are quite useful. I would recommend this book for those who are Wiccans, Witches, or Pagans. If you are a Kabbalist, you might be disappointed. But every magick is an art on its own.

In no way do I blame the author - so many authors 'borrow' from Bardon without ever knowing, much less giving credit.

Perhaps more wiccans/pagans/ceremonialists could try Franz Bardon.

In the end, I was left a little disappointed...

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, easy to follow guide book, June 24, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Sorcerer's Handbook: Real Magick at Your Fingertips (Paperback)
This book is very well written and a highly enjoyable read. The spells it gives are easy to follow no matter what experience you have (or don't have).

I was amazed that such an affordable book contained such an indepth look at magik. Many books tell you 'roughly' how to cast a particular spell, but this one leaves nothing out, walking you through step by step and explaining WHY it works as well as HOW.

Best of all, most of the spells it provides are practical and useful, things that will help you in every day life.

Ideal if you are just 'curious' or just getting started, and a super reference guide for the more experienced. This book is easily worth 4 times the price.

To those of you who are interested in dabbing into the arts of Magick. I recommend this book to you. The book is an excellent presentation of taking an actual class in Sorcerory. I just got it June 18th, 2002 and that very same day I made it to Chapter 3. The book is so well written that I can't seem to put it down. Grab the book fellow sisters and brothers who are in the arts. I don't think you will be let down. Plus, it is pretty affordable for a book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have !!!, August 3, 2011

This review is from: Sorcerer's Handbook: Real Magick at Your Fingertips (Paperback)
I have a large selection of books including Avatar, Solomon, They Mystic Mighty Grimoire and so forth just to give you an idea of how my library is. But I HAVE to say that this book is one of my favorite all time books !!! It is not really a beginners book ( neophyte , it is more like a first degree book. Even though a beginner can get a lot of information from this, they will still have to research different things in this book, as well as a first degree.
I've got this book years ago when the price wasn't so pricey but it is well worth the price now ! I have 2 of these books, with one put up in my library.
I was going through the spells in this book and came across a confusion spell, while I was at work and decided to try it on one of my friends and co-worker. Well, he came back to me a little while later and told me that all of a sudden, he had no idea what the h3(( he was doing ! I laughed and showed him the confusion spell and we laughed AFTER he said a few words to me ( lol )
The spells in this book are really simple and easy to use and most important of all, THEY WORK !
This book also gives you all the warnings, not like these Wiccan books, about what you can attract when you give off so much energy !
It is well written. Talks about the seasons, days associated with the planets, moon phases and so on. That is why I "could" consider it a beginners book but if you are even more, it is still worth getting just to look from another point of view ! IT IS A MUST HAVE TO GO INTO YOUR LIBRARY ! I kid you not ! Simple, easy to use, no Solomon's circle, just your belief in you !!!!!
Well, I hope that this helps you in your decision and where ever you buy it used or new, it'll go up in price for I bought this book when it was only about $12.00 !!!!
Thank you
Michael

I found this book quite interesting, since I knew nothing about the topic and yet I believe I needed some basic information. I learned a lot from it. It's not as simple as it sounds. Just the exercises alone take about 4 months to carry out and it gives you a great foundation on the principles of magic in general. Great read!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good book on Sorcerery, March 18, 2008

I licked this book. But it kept trying to feed the reader the three fold law and morality. Which should be up to the adept to figure out for them selves not the author to deed them?
