4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Collector's Edition December 13, 2013
Platform for Display:Limited Edition|Edition:Limited Edition
I went ahead and got this nice little Collector's edition because it was only a little more than the standard edition and looked very collectable. Additional items are cute and different although not the normal extras by any means. I think this game will go up in value in the future and become hard to find.

I found this game to be quite cute and funny. A nice combination of a Visual Novel and a Dungeon Crawler. Graphics are good but not perfect - the animation is a little stilted and there could have been more detail in the dungeons - also the game is spoken in Japanese and has English subtitles. To me, having the game spoken in Japanese actually adds to the appeal of the game.

This game's got a decent story line, quite different where you are a student and curry expert. I was never bored by the story, it moved quickly and I found the characters interesting. The combat is fun and easy. So if you are looking for a good Visual Novel that has a funny and engaging story with some simple dungeon crawls - this is your game. I highly recommend it - it is different, funny, and easy to play - exactly the type of game I like to play on a portable system!

I have been playing Sorcery Saga for several days so far and I love it. The story is cute as are the characters with humorous dialogue. Though the story is typical anime trope, it is not as annoying as some I've encountered and I've encountered a great many! They don't behave as idiotically as some anime characters do, "Oh, you're a totally disgusting lech? Well, I'll forgive you because I'm sure you're good at heart!" type of scenario!

I notice that the other reviews glossed over the fact that this is the type of dungeon crawler that Izuna:Legend of the Unemployed Ninja on the DS is. If you can stand high levels of frustration (I can) you may enjoy this. When you die in a dungeon, you lose all of your items you've collected as well al all of your money. Sometimes you may retain your weapon and shield and other times the dungeon gods decide that has to go as well. Not only do you lose everything, you start over at level 1. While you gain health after battles, you have a companion named Kuu that requires constant eating or he dies. You can feed him practically anything from weapons to food to scrolls, but it's a chore. He is a good fighter but it takes a lot of management to keep him going. I really missed him when he died and I had nothing to feed him and had to go on alone!

One thing is that the battle itself (which is like Pokémon Mystery Dungeon as well) it easy in general. However it's difficult to beat the boss at the end of the dungeon. I've beat one but can't figure out how to beat the next one yet. All my equipment that I fuse and power up etc. gets wiped out and I've had to start with weak equipment time after time. I'm not totally fed up yet though because the basic combat IS fairly easy.

5.0 out of 5 stars The curry gods have spoken September 14, 2014

okay,i have read most of the reviews of this game here on amazon, some people who who reviewed the game and gave it 1 star don't even have the verified purchase logo,so you cant trust that they actually purchased let alone played the actual game, anyway i went ahead and purchased the limited edition version of this game, mostly because i try to buy limited editions when possible, and the price i paid for the limited edition was only 30 dollars, which is very cheap,i couldn't argue with that price so i went ahead and got it,well the game arrived a few days ago,and i have put in around 15 hours into it,in my honest opinion the game is good,of course it isn't the best game out there by any stretch but the story was funny enough to keep me entertained, some things about this game like the menus and such are not perfect, but i didn't let that take away from the fun i had playing it,and i'm still not done playing,i will for sure keep going back and try to collect more trophies in the game, also the limited edition has some weird items, but i thought they were pretty cool,i will never open them, but i cant complain,it was cheap and it was well worth the price i paid for it,anyway,i recommend this game to anyone who just wants a relaxing and funny game to play, you wont regret getting it,though the game isn't for everyone.

If you like old school RPGs this is for you. The story is funny, combat is simple, graphics look good, and the limited edition was worth the extra money if you like collectables.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun but weird... January 11, 2014
Platform for Display:Limited Edition| Edition:Limited Edition|Verified Purchase
First let me say that I'm not much of a fan of RPG's that use the tile like system. IE: you can only move within a preset boxed area. Everytime you move the enemies move towards you. The game is quite fun with nice graphics and a silly story. You play a girl that wants to save a local curry restaurant from going out of business, because a giant chain restaurant has moved in.

I won't go to deep into this, but if you're looking for a fun challenging game that doesn't require to much of your time to understand whats actually going on this one is for you!
