The heel does slip up a bit when walking but I am sure with some thicker socks, the problem will be easily remedied.

I had been looking for a pair of Sorel boots for a while, something both fashionable, but extremely durable and cold weather tested. I live in one of the coldest climates and after buying these boots, I don't think I'll ever need another pair. The craftsmanship is evident from the moment you take them out box, and I have yet to step into the snow and feel even the slightest bit of cold. A very feminine way to stay warm for a very long time. I would definitely buy another pair again, but the construction is so solid, that I don't think I will ever need to.

These boots are amazing. They are lightweight, comfortable, INCREDIBLY warm and keep my feet dry. I was out in deep snow today for about four hours and was warm and dry the entire time. They are not as bulky as other Sorel boots but not as 'slim' as they appear in the photos, still very cute. I'm normally a size 8.5. I got the 8 and although they felt snug at first, they are fine.

I have to admit I feel a bit like a wookie in these boots, but a stylish, warm wookie. They do have a very wide-feeling footbed, but you need to remember: this isn't as pronounced to others as it feels to you. Your feet will never look as big to anyone, anywhere, except to you when you're looking down on them.

Having wide feet, I needed wide boots (especially with the myriad sock-layers a non-Canadian in Canada needs) and this boot delivers. It's surprisingly cute; the Amelia style is more of a mature-elegant look, but this here is kind of an adventurey look. I tried on a handful of Sorel boots before picking these, and even over a year later I'm still really happy with the decision.

The knee-height is another great feature. Who knew these snows would get so deep? There have been a bunch of times that the bus has delivered me into a snow bank and while people alongside me are picking their way gingerly through, I just walk on and don't even notice. A few times fluffy snow would get caught under the flap connecting the upper to the rubber section, but don't worry -- either a bit of stomping (or eventual melting for those disinclined to stomp) will get that out and your boot will be fine.

In terms of traction, they're alright. I don't feel like any sort of ice-gecko in them, but they are a level above my regular-weather (as opposed to Canadian Winter) boots. I have eaten salt/gravel/ice a total of once in them over two winters (Winter '11-'12, and winter '12-Jan '13), and that was on ice so perfect that it appeared to be Zamboni'd. I'm not one to fall very often, so if ice seems to have it in for you, I'd recommend looking for some over-the-shoe grippy things.

In terms of warmth, they're pretty good.

The boots are so cute. I've worn these boots for a few 4 mile walks...carrying by newborn. They kept my feet super warm. I'm 5'3 and they go up to my knee which is nice because they keep my legs warm too. I have muscular calves and wide flinstone feet and these boots were a nice fit...no squeezing necessary! They grip well so I didn't slip. That is huge because I carry my baby everywhere in this city. The first time, I wore them with smartwool socks and didn't have any problems. But the second time, I wore thin black ribbed knit socks and the boot rubbed my skin raw near my right achilles. It hurt when I was walking, but I wanted to finish what I set out to do. When I returned home and removed my socks, I discovered my skin was rubbed off and bleeding...just on the right leg. I'm still waiting for it to heal...hoping that it was just a one time thing. I wore the boots again on the same 4 mile walk with smartwool socks and a bandaid, but once I worked up a sweat, the bandaid peeled off and I came home in pain again. We just got another dump of snow...I so want to wear the boots but need to let this heal over.

These boots are amazing! I usually wear a 7.5- 8 but ordered a size 7 as I have found some very helpful reviews stating that they run a half to a full size big. Size 7 fits perfectly. They are roomy and easlly sinched up or loosened to accommodate both pants and leggings. I did not find them to be too clunky or heavy as others have complained. After all, they are waterproof, winter boots. Another complaint that I have read is that they are too tall for us shorter ladies. I am only 5' 3" and have no complaints regarding the height of the boot at all. I am only excited that they will keep my legs warm as well as my feet. The heel does slip up a bit when walking but I am sure with some thicker socks, the problem will be easily remedied. My only real complaint is that made in China : ( As I was not able to find an American or Canadian made boot that I liked as much, I decided to get them anyways and am honeslty very glad that I did. They really are high quality and I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for warmth and style.

I received these today and have been on a 2 mile dog walk in crunchy snow, ice, mid-calf deep snow. This is the 3rd pair of high boots I tried - only 1 I kept. They are easy on and easily adjustable with the lace system. I put an Uggs sheepskin insole in as I don't like to wear socks. The fit on my foot is perfect with the insole (size 9M) - a little slip in the heal which is normal with boots. They are warm but I tend to not get cold.

4 instead of 5 because they are a soft boot - feels like I'm wearing a hightop moccasin, i.e no ankle support and the flat bottom provides no arch support. I can add a bit of arch support, but can't do much about the ankle support. That said, the boots I returned fit well for walking but were extremely hard to get in to. I wear waterproof hiking boots and gators for snowshoeing so these are for short walks, errand running, getting the mail and should be fine. I wouldn't want to be in them and on my feet all day, though.

Oh, they are cute as heck :)!!!
