I love the Lois Meade Mysteries. The continuing characters are people you know, getting along the best they can with strengths and weaknesses, but mostly likeable. Running a cleaning service is a good way to find things out, and Lois Meade cooperates with Chief Inspector Cowgill to help him solve crimes. He has a crush on her, but these good people never let it go farther than that. Now, Lois's husband, Derek, has won enough in the lottery that they have some security, but they aren't rich. They decided to invest in a rental property.
What this means to us, is that possibly Lois will have other households to investigate, since she can't expand her cleaning business, New Brooms, forever. A clue at the end of this book says the next Lois Meade Mystery will be called "Warning at One." Hooray!

I thought the book was just okay. I do like the Ivy Beasley series better, as the stories seem more interesting to me, revolving around an assisted living facility, and seniors who are still sharp-minded and active.

Loved this series and the aging and progression of the characters. I am so sorrowful that there are only seven days in the week.
