Bowling For Soup have nothing to apologize for. If anything, they have lots to brag about. I have enjoyed their music since I first heard them 10 years ago. They began as a local band in the Dallas/Fort Worth "Metroplex" where I grew up, and they managed to pry open ClearChannel's iron fist and get some local radio airplay, and rose to great heights from there. They fill a major void in today's music landscape: decent musicianship, brilliant songwriting, pleasant melodies and a sense of humor rolled into one. They seem to get even better with each album they release, and "Sorry For Partyin' is no exception. "No Hablo Ingles" is a hilarious tune about using a simple Spanish phrase to avoid responsibility and controversy, and "My Wena" is a tongue-in-cheek tune about the male genitalia. But then they deliver "I Gotchoo", which is a brilliant pop song that blends in a little bit of rap and metal in a creative way, and almost echoes the cult classic "so bad it's good" pop tune "Summer Girls" by short-lived boy-band LFO."Hooray For Beer" is exactly what it sounds like. "Me With No You" and "I Don't Wish You Were Dead Anymore" take things to a more serious level (These guys clearly know what troubled relationships are all about). "I Can't stand L.A." is a nice shout-out to their roots (there's one on just about all of their albums). "America (Wake Up Amy)" is one of their more ambitious songs lyrically, personifying the country as a girl...and has a similar concept to some of Green Day's recent, political tunes without resorting to Billie Joe Armstrong's bitterness and hatred.Read more ›

This would be one of my favourite as it's pretty much just pure fun! The opening track A Really Cool Dance Song pretty much sums the band up. The band make fun of themselves, something they've done constantly on other albums but with this song they're trying to pay the bills and need to crack that one big hit song and since dance songs are popular they decide to release one. Of course as their singing it BFS style they realise they don't really know how to write a dance song. I just find this song to be a lot of fun. As is the second track No Hablo Ingles. Ever get annoyed when you ask someone something and they pretend they don't speak English? That's what happens here with the band responding to all sorts of situations from not doing homework to picking up after their dog.

This is a pretty clean album too, it lacks the swearing of some of their other albums but it does reference the male genitalia with its third track My Wena which plays on the school yard name for a certain appendage. However it is very cleverly written and is actually about a girl called Wena who gets up to behaviour any guy can relate to with their own, well Wena.

Only Young is a good solid song celebrating youth or perhaps still feeling young when you consider the age of the band and likely yourself if you've been following them since earlier albums. I Don't Wish You Were Dead Anymore is another fun song about an ex, same sort of style as a lot of their songs on other albums. BFFF is a nice tribute to friendship and loyalty with some great lines such as "and sometimes we punch each other in the face like when I hit on your mom and got to second base." Me With No You is a nice ballad, again similar to a lot of stuff they've done on other albums.

Being a huge fan of BFS, I was eagerly awaiting this album. I wasn't disappointed one bit when I sat down and listened to it. It's classic BFS with upbeat melodies, funky-beernut humor, and good vibes. There are only two things about this album that I need to point out..
1) It lacks the 'power single'. While previous albums have had a big hit anchoring the album, this one seems to lack it. Drunk Enough to Dance (Girl all the bad guys want) A Hangover You Don't Deserve (1985, Almost) and The Great Burrito Extortion Case (When We Die, High School Never Ends) had hit singles that lept out at you. On this album, there doesn't seem to be a song quite in the echelons of those hits. Don't get me wrong, I love the songs "No Hablo Ingles" & "My Wena", but they aren't quite in the same reach.
2) Some of the best tracks for this album aren't technically "on" the album. Songs like 'Choke' & 'Everything to Me' are only found as bonus tracks. It would've been nice for these to be on the album.
But never fear! I'm in no way complaining...fans of BFS will love this album. Buy some for gifts for people who like happy music =)

Bowling for Soup, on their 10th album, still have never let me down. Every lyric stays fresh in my head for days. I learn every song on guitar and bass as soon as I possibly can. I blare the music in my car. I can't get enough of this album!
It's truly a fantastic work of art. Bowling for Soup have spent much time working on this CD for all to enjoy. Some songs will make you laugh every time you hear them, and others will make you cry because they are so relatable that they remind you of someone you love dearly.
So please, buy this album, and give the guys a chance. I've loved them for years and there must be some reason for that(:

So I feel sorry fro YOU if you haven't bought this album yet!! BUY IT!!(:
