Okay, "SOS" samples (understatement) Soft Cell's version of "Tainted Love," which was a cover of a song by Gloria Jones. That's nothing new. Rap & Hip/hop sample like crazy. Madonna's "Hung Up" sampled ABBA, and her "Future Lovers" samples Donna Summer. Rihanna hasn't invited something new here. In honesty, I prefer her vocals (and possibly, lyrics) to Soft Cell's lyrics and vocals. Seldom does a remake (or sample) outdo the original, but let's face it: Soft Cell's hit wasn't a hit from the vocals, but the track. Catchy, catchy, catchy. My disappointment with Rihanna's CD is that the single isn't at all representative of the album - meaning, if you buy the album hoping to hear more songs with the sass and spirit of "SOS," you'll be disappointed. On future efforts, Rihanna should go for the dance floor - it seems to like her.

I like what Rihanna has done with Soft Cell's "Tainted Love." It's a bouncy, fresh, new approach to a classic New Wave/Pop song!!

If you like to dance and sing along S.O.S. has a beat to get you moving! Rhianna had once again come out with an awesome song called S.O.S.. S.O.S. is an excellent, attention grabbing song! This song has captured the hearts of many people throughout the world. I would recommend this song to not only those who like hip-hop, but to those who just need to listen to some good music. I love this SOS SONG, it's truly a great club banger. Even though it wont get played on R&B/Hip-HOP stations i feel that this song has a top 10 Quality.___ Everyone remember her album coems out April 25, dont forget to go buy 2 copies..

My rating is only three stars, because this is the only song I've heard by Rhianna.

I am in my 40s. I remember Soft Cell's version, which of course, they took from an even older version. So what if this song samples Soft Cell's rendition? I think there's room for both! Both songs are good in different ways. People need to be a little more tolerant.

Oh geez! when I saw her dancing on the video. It was a runaway trip to the store! I mean this song is just crazy and it really is from it's title "S.O.S". Good club anthem and definitely one those party movers and shakers of the clubs. Well Done Rihanna! The Club mix is not bad as well. Gives you an 80's glam feel! Happy listening people!

Rihanna's "SOS" is THE summer anthem, and Jason Nevins turns it into an 80s-styled stomper! W2G Mr. Nevins! Oh, and the album version's good too.

I think the sample for 'tainted love' was an excellent choice. R&B music sometimes is (in my opinion) sounding a bit boring. Rihanna has a different voice and I think variety is good.

The video has vibrant colors that remind me she is from the Caribbean. Great song by a great upcoming artiste.
