This review is from: Sotheby's: the Inside Story (Hardcover)
The author does an excellent job of describing the lack of integrity that nearly took down Sotheby's. Before Enron, this story unveiled a secret world of collusion that rattled the art and auction worlds. Sotheby's failure to develop processes for identifying looted antiquities and smuggled artwork nearly destroyed its reputation in a business driven almost exclusively on trust.
