This is a wonderful CD, danceable,elegant, soulful. 74 minutes of music spread over 19 tracks. Perfect for the beach or long slow hot afternoons turning into nights. I listen to this in traffic and it never fails to put me in a better mood. Most of the artists on the album are female and if you like Cesaria Evora, Susanna Baca or Omara Portuondo than you will dig this.

If you can find this, do get it. It's a great, ethnic, unusual collection of Cape Verde. Voices, drum, instruments have a great endearing quality!

This is a fabulous CD. Though I'm a Latina and the lyrics are in portuguese the rythms are great for dancing. You will be pleased.

We listen to this when we are in a romantic mood. It's also wonderful dinner music.

I found this CD in a local record store where it was in the World Music section. In the past I have enjoyed music from Africa. The music on this CD was described as being sort of a synthesis of music from Africa, Portugal and Brazil. This is a valid description. The music is gorgeous. Some of the most innovative and easy to listen-to music that I've heard in awhile. The fact that I do not understand the lyrics (Portuguese) did not detract. One test as to whether a music CD is worth it is whether it is played often. And I have played thos one often.

Even though this recording is not new, it was new and wonderful to me. The mysterious blend of African and Portuguese music is captivating, and all the singerts and musicians are superb. I went straight to Amazon and ordered it.

This is one of the best cd's I've bought in a long time. Even though I'm a latina and the words are in portuguese, the rythms are outstanding for dancing.

What a nice change this music is. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

This is one of my favorite CDs. My husband and I got engaged listening to it! But that isn't the only reason I like it so much. The music is absolutely beautiful!
