Wonderful book!, October 16, 2008
This review is from: Soul Currency: Investing Your Inner Wealth for Fulfillment and Abundance (Hardcover)
Ernest Chu rescues the masses from their mundane concerns about money with an uplifting, hopeful book. Engaging, heartfelt and highly informative, Soul Currency is filled with practical insight. Chu takes the reader by the hand through the often woebegone land of financial frets to discover how it's not only possible to maintain equanimity in times of economic strife, but how to use these experiences as a catapult to tap an immense vein of wealth. His careful marshalling of evidence illustrates how human beings can rebound even in the most adverse circumstances when they allow themselves to be led by their impeccable inerrant guidance system--the Soul. This valuable book bridges the gap between material success and spiritual fulfillment.

Soulful Insights Foundation to Fiscal Revelations, January 13, 2009
This review is from: Soul Currency: Investing Your Inner Wealth for Fulfillment and Abundance (Hardcover)
I expected this book to be about wealth and having 'more' but in actuality it is about bulking up your inner wealth in 'real' currency - a soul and spirit working in harmony from the inside out - to draw wealth as well as personal fulfullment, great bonds, and a sense of serenity. Using a metaphor of spiritual capital and other terms of the finance world, Chu writes articulately and convincingly about being in alignment inside- positive, whole, and honest. According to Chu, even if you are 'successful' - negative belief systems put a lowered ceiling on what we can achieve and at what other costs. He relates business examples from his own life and those he coaches in service to the theme of abundance. But the notion of settling your 'inner house' first - (and he gives ways and means how) is the anchor to everything else positive you can achieve. Not only that - this doesn't (and shouldn't) be such hard work and effort. When you have your soul capital safely in place and making dividends, everything you need in other major areas of your life flow in. The book is intelligent, comforting, and endorsed by some of the best authors in this area of publishing (Deepak Choprah, Jampolsky, for example) and in reading it, it's easy to see why. A super book.

A MUST read - This book WILL change you, if you let it., November 22, 2008
This review is from: Soul Currency: Investing Your Inner Wealth for Fulfillment and Abundance (Hardcover)
Soul Currency is the most practical, down to earth guide to bringing one's life into spiritual balance. In my case, the author has clearly done what he had set out to do. Ernest's insights, inspiration and easy to do exercises have brought real value into my life. I could not give any higher praise than that. Thank You, Ernest.
Professionally, in my life coaching practice, Soul Currency has helped me in working with people that are struggling with their weight.
I even quoted the book in one of my recent podcasts: "People commonly mistake struggle for the nobility of rising to meet a challenge. But there is a distinct difference. While wrestling with our challenges, we may feel at times like we are struggling; in taking on any real challenge, we gain energy that is expansive and life-giving. Overcoming a challenge transforms us and rewards us with a sense of accomplishment. Struggle drains energy because it is pointless. It robs us of life-giving purpose. Struggle feels like drowning or spinning our wheels in deep mud." - Ernest Chu, Soul Currency
This is a powerful message for people that believe they need to struggle in order to lose weight. When people set their sights on weight loss, they struggle and deprive themselves until it hurts and then they interpret the pain they feel as `doing them good'. It is called "being on a diet" and it doesn't work. In the end it is that very struggle that leaves them frustrated enough to forget the whole deal and go back to exactly the way they were. . . or worse.
One of the greatest challenges I face when working with clients is getting them to set their sights on "do-able" goals not incredible ones. They feel somehow that if they are not suffering then they are not really doing anything. In fact, nothing could be further from the truth. As a betterness coach, I don't actually teach people how to lose weight at all; I teach them how to re-gain their life one small "do-able" step at a time. In the process, they end up accomplishing some pretty incredible stuff, including weight loss. Because they allow themselves the time to adjust to this new life as they create it, it is not only painless - it lasts too.
Soul Currency is not a book about weight loss. It is a book about how to transform your life by developing and investing the unlimited energy of your very soul. As I was reading the book, however, it seemed to me that Ernest knew a lot more about losing weight than I had originally thought.
Thanks Again, Ernest - by improving the lives of those that help others to improve their life, this book is helping even folks that have yet to read it.
