Deepak Chopra presents a wide variety of healing therapies in the Soul of Healing. He explains how the body makes its own healing chemicals and explores biological rhythms, holistic healing traditions, limbic regulation, biologically orchestrated healing and how sound can evoke a healing response.

The information presented here could be essential to your own survival on the planet. Deepak explains depression as the "depletion of energy" and shows how you can alleviate stress through breathing techniques.

Should a doctor tell a patient they are dying? Will this accelerate death?
Are addictions really a search for ecstasy?

Deepak Chopra dances with words and information. He seems to take pleasure in the sounds of words and even introduces his audience to a few musical instruments. He moves from the office, to the beach and other settings. This is an enjoyable DVD to watch over and over again. After you watch this DVD you may go out and buy rose oil or schedule a healing massage.

Each time I listen to Deepak speak, I learn something new and can apply it to my life. His command of the English language is always stunning and listening to him talk is a type of intellectual bliss.

I thought this was a really good dvd.Anyone who has liked Deepak Chopra's work will love this.

In The Soul of Healing, Volume 1, Deepak Chopra draws on the ancient wisdom traditions to present a Meditation on Medicine and Synchronicity. Chopra presents six postulates:

1. Healing is real
2. Your feelings affect your body
3. Believe in the placebo effect
4. Information transcends space and time
5. Healer heal thyself
6. The power of synchronicity.

The DVD opens with Chopra giving a lecture to a small group of health care providers and cuts away to him in his office, on the beach, and among a group of meditators. Interspersed are snippets with no real structure on healing the physical body and the emotional self through the five senses of taste, touch, sound, smell, and sight.

This presentation is a hodgepodge of Chopra's healing philosophies and the importance of understanding the mind/body connection. While the information on the body's ability to heal itself is invaluable, the editing is a choppy collection of principles that do not really build on one another. In two scenes, Chopra asks a nutritionist and essential oil practitioner questions, and as they begin to answer, he interrupts them and answers for them.

Overall, this is a poor production that mars the value of the information presented.

Excellent lecture tutorial on how the body acts and reacts from the spiritual, emotional and medical points of view. Deepak Chopra is
an engaging speaker who comes to the subject of health and wellness
from both his 'ancient wisdom' East Indian background as well as his
expertise as an medical endocrinologist. Very informative lecture along with examples of how to meditate, interact with the sounds and
feel of nature and the importance of the use of the five senses in
getting and staying well. I recommend it highly.

I have read and listened to Deepak's works for over ten years. I was disappointed in the delivery. His teachings on Quantum Healing from long ago are much more substantial.
