Great coverage of a great era,

1969-70 may not have been a good era for the country (Vietnam, Kent State, etc), but it was a very good era for Soul music. Songs like "grazing in the Grass," "Didn't I Blow Your Mind This Time" (check out the intro), "Oh Happy Day," and yes, "Color Them Father" and "A rainy Night In Georgia" (the last two are known mostly to those who remember AM radio at the time). If you were there, you'll love this collection. If you weren't there, this is a great intro. Enjoy.

"Songs That Will Live On For Always",

These are timeless treasures, songs that will live on forever. They remind us of the good days when good songs were worth listening to and become a part of our daily lives. We will never get any group as good as the Winstons. They did not stay around for a long time but they gave the world a song entitled, "Colour Him Father," that is the greatest tribute to fathers and men in general. I wish the present day artists and songwriters would listen to this collection before they start their next project, it would make listening to music fun again.

you just cant say anything bad about a collection that has going in circles AND color him father in it. when brook benton sez feels like its raining all over the world, you almost feel damp. even if you didnt dig soul you would dig this album. it came from a time before miriah careys "notes per square inch" style, and lyric were sung, in harmoney no less, and not rapped out with a lot of mutha fukahs and canned drums. check it out and remember the magic of a.m. radio.
