Forget the retro group picture on the cover; this is a budget CD with minimal production values, and would appear to derive from Doug's Antones label period. It's a very good live recording with no personnel specified, but the songs are warhorses and run for themselves. You can probably get it cheaper elsewhere. It's much better than I expected and a worthy addition for the Sir Doug completist.

Buy This!!! If you like Doug Sahm and don't own this, Buy It Now. Doug at his finest playing Antones in Austin on New Years Eve mid 90s. It's pure soul captured live and Doug seems to be having more fun than anyone at the party. Ranks with James Brown Live at The Apollo or Delbert Live in Austin as one of the finest live party albums in existence. Doug's version of Mr Pitiful is worth the price alone! Recording quality isn't studio perfect but it's damned good for what it is, A Live New Years Eve Show At Antones!!! BUY THIS!!!
