From Library Journal
Moore, a distinguished scholar, teacher, theologian, and author of Soul and Everyday Live (Audio Reviews, LJ 10/15/93), leads us deeper into the complex realm of soul life in this workshop session. Until the Enlightenment, when the first scientists attempted to reduce the mind to a field of rational study, the soul was considered the key to a higher spirituality, he explains. Moore challenges our generation, like the alchemists of 500 years ago, to engage the energies of the soul for every aspect of life in need of nourishment. He forsakes the modern clinical approach involved with curing the soul and contends that there is no quick fix to our everyday problems. We cannot solve our inner struggles on a scientific or mechanical level. Caring for the soul involves some sort of spirituality. Which type depends upon each person and his or her individual gifts of the soul, Moore claims. Recommended for academic libraries.
