I came to this through hearing Mike Roe's "Mercy Seat" which is a knock out track -- one of Roe's best, and that is saying a lot for this veteran solo artist and leader of the 77s. However, Mercy Seat sounds absolutely nothing like the rest of the cuts. In fact, no two cuts sound much alike even though there is an attempt to blend them into one another and find some kind of common ground. Nevertheless, several of the tracks are very, very well done. So, if you are willing to be taken on an unusual musical trip, I recommend you give this a listen and a buy -- and if you like Roe/77s, the whole disc is worthy Mercy Seat...well, well, well.
