Flowery meditations on the nighttime sky and various astronomical objects, by the author of 365 Starry Nights and The Crust of Our Earth . The book is heavily larded with animalian references, typified by ``the open mouths of the galactic black holes.'' Amid all the fluff is some astronomy and science history, but the book is overburdened with a heart-tugging subjectiveness that will endear it only to those who take their science in pablum form.
