Women's Feelings, March 28, 2008
This review is from: Soul Poems for My Sistas (Paperback)
Soul Poems for My Sistas by Michele Washington speaks from the innermost part of a woman, her soul. Written on the pages of this book you will find hope, love, relationship, and a few conversations with God. I can only hope everyone can relate to the message in "Peace." I know I do, I want to be as God intended me to be.
Soul Poems for My Sistas reminds me of girls' night out, where everyone shares their feelings, without any fear. Some will appreciate "To My Takin-Care-of-Business Brother." Instead of being a trite, bashing and tongue-lashing of a selfish man, this poem acknowledges the do-right-man. I also cannot forget to mention the pencil sketches, they are awesome. My favorite one is of the man and woman, even without the face, I could see the love they felt for one another. While some of the poems are not memorable, they were enjoyable when reading.
I recommend Soul Poems for My Sistas to a group of women to read and enjoy together.
