I've listened to both the original Train version, and the recorded Glee version, and this version is much better. Maybe because I'm a male acapella singer myself, or maybe just because it's such an amazing rendition, but either way, this ranks up there with some of the other songs the Warblers have done on Glee. The arrangement is really well done, and really catchy!

"Hey Soul Sister" is the ubiquitous Train pop song. The San Francisco treat has made its way onto Glee: The Music - Journey to Regionals The big question: Can it be saved? Turns out, YES WE CAN! On the show, "Hey Soul Sister" is sung by the blazer-wearing boy band that Kurt (Chris Colfer) joins, where he's smitten with its lead, Blaine (Darren Criss) Surprisingly, this version, as an a cappella all male chorus, is SUPERIOR to the original. The frosting on the cake is that GLEE wisely omits the dumb lyric "I'm so obsessed, my heart is going to burst from my untrimmed chest." The infamous chest hair reference is gone... that's why I'm GLEEful. As Blaine and the Boys sing, Kurt is enamored of the lead- and Mr. Schuester (Matthew Morrison) looks on in repressed homoerotic desire. This song will have you falling in love. "Hey Soul Sister" finally gets some soul... and some heart. I'm full of glee!
