More About the Author

Four-teen years ago, at the age of thirty-three Kev discovered writing as his new calling and pursued this with passion. This turning point in Kev's life was the beginning of his own personal adventure, the inception of the first Johnny Marsh Adventure novel, Dream Raider.

Kev immigrated to Australia in 1971 with his parents, settling in Brisbane Australia. Kev is qualified in two trades and has had to fit his writing around his work commitments. Over the years Kev has drawn his inspiration from books, films and even video games. Kev has been married for over twenty-seven years to his wife Tracey, who together have two sons.

As Kev discovered his path as a writer, this point in time also marked another pivotal moment in Kev's writing career as he partnered up with artist and marketer Anthony Puttee. The two have been long time friends and the idea of working with Kev creating this new world and characters was irresistible.

Together the two have developed the Johnny Marsh series over the years as Anthony became the concept artist developing ideas for story points and world development. It's a rare working relationship as the writing inspires the artwork and the artwork in turn inspiring the writing with character details yet to be revealed in upcoming books, which were fleshed out through visual concepts over ten years ago.

Together they are currently working on Book 2 in the Johnny Marsh Adventure series, Soul Trader: A Johnny Marsh Adventure. The two together founded the website JohnnyMarsh.Net where they share the stories, freebies, announce event information, and share there writing adventures.

You can find out more about Kev Webb and Anthony Puttee at the website JohnnyMarsh.Net, along with giveaways and the free weekly story 'Pete's Diary' an online companion to the novel Dream Raider: A Johnny Marsh Adventure.

PLEASE keep in mind, this review is written by my "taste in books"/my opinion.

Soul Trader - A Johnny Marsh Adventure

In an attempt to make this review painless, I am going to give a few attributes and a rating for each and then an overall rating.

(1=lowest; 5=highest)

Originality: 2
Flow: 1
Dialogue: 1
Plot: 2
Characters: 1
Illustrations: 4

Weak/forced dialogue and constant explanation of the characters action/thoughts stood out the most to me. The story might have been good if the author would have had some faith in the reader's ability to understand things without trying to explain it all. It might also help to sit and listen to how kids/teenagers talk before trying to write dialogue for them...

I applaud the author's ability to write two books but I suggest paying an editor or getting some impartial readers prior to publication.

Format: Paperback
This second book in the tri-series steps up the pace, the plot thickens and hints at sinister forces lurking in the shadows. Johnny and Wrongy continue to be lured into a darker world and their impending battles delve deeper into the mystery of Johnny's past. Soul Trader will provide answers to some of the questions raised in Dream Raider, the first book in the series. But, it's not that simple. With more answers comes more questions. However, you'll find these welcome and you'll look forward to the answers being revealed in the third book. There are intricate and impressive drawings throughout the book and an enjoyable dream sequence that's sure to leave you pleasantly surprised and well as adequately satisfied with the story. And what's up with Wrongy's sister?! Grab yourself a copy and continue the ride. It's well worth it.

I enjoyed this book so much in paperback I decided to purchase it on my tablet so I can always have a copy with me. Even after having read it through a third time this book still holds my attention and gets my heart racing. I simply adored the first installment in this series, Dream Raider, and I was not disappointed with this sequel. With a brand new bad guy and a new supernatural mystery to solve Johnny and Wrongy are right in the thick of it again.

The Johnny Marsh adventure series gets your heart pounding and sets your mind racing at the possibilities of what might be waiting not only on the next page but in the the next paragraph. I found myself even more reluctant to put this book down than I was with the first one. I am completely enthralled in the universe KC Webb has created and Anthony Puttee has helped bring to life with his illustrations. I am (im)patiently awaiting the next book in this series and my chance to get my hands on a copy.
