5.0 out of 5 stars A 30th Anniversary Live TOP Album
Tower of Power celebrated their 30th anniversary with SOUL VACCINATION: TOWER OF POWER LIVE. The 15 tracks on this album span tunes from their second album, BUMP CITY, up until their last studio album of the 90's, RHYTHM & BUSINESS. From the first notes on Doc Kupka's bari sax on "Soul With A Capital 'S'" listeners can't help but dance. Classics such as...

1.0 out of 5 stars This is not what I expected from an amazing new audioformat
I own several cd,s that sound better than this sacd. Together with this one ,I also ordered Willy Nelson sacd, this is realy the best audio recording I ever heard. Better than lp,dts, 24bit dvdaudio. What went wrong with this sacd? It sounds sharp, not as far so dynamic as James Brown Live at the hal ..dtsdvd. Also it souns dull in the higherfrequencies overall a cold...

Classics such as "What is Hip," "Soul Vaccination" and "So Very Hard To Go" have changed over the years getting even funkier and fresher than ever. If you own the orignal albums your money will not be wasted on these newer versions of old tunes. Jesse McGuire's trumpet solo on "Willing to Learn" is one of the best trumpet solos that I've heard in any genre and I've seen many a trumpeter's jaw drop the first time that they hear that solo. My favorite song on the album would have to be "To Say The Least You're The Most." Doc's sax is even more prominent than the original recording! Overall, this is an album that should not be missing from any collection. If you've been thinking about buying a TOP album and don't know which one to get, this is the one. If you loved TOP in the past and want to know what they've been up to in the 90's, check this out. It's simply one of the best.

I know this is a liverecording but they can sound good to. If you own a sacdplayer and want to try out this amazingsounding new format do not buy this one. Unless your a fan.
