great album !!! i saw these guys live before anyone really knew who they were...and they blew me away...the guitar work was crisp and melodic and the vocals were really great as well...especially for a bunch of (at the time) 17 and 18 yr old kids!!! one of my favorite albums of all time...no question!!

5.0 out of 5 stars just a great (but a little nostalgic) album !!, May 13, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: My Soul Is Wet (Audio CD)
I bought this album ten years ago... and it's my favorite band among the artists whith a BIG, BIG talent (with a fantastic scenic energy) who never met the glory.. One album and a genuine bomb !!! They're still in my soul, like other bands as Sucking Sucka's wit Logic (in a funky hard style) or Therapy?
With this album, i discovered a part of America, with deep and cruel aspects, but so heartful. So, even if you are not an american like me, go and sink in this ocean of metal and rage!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Speed Metal at it's best!, February 7, 2003

Great rythmic baleds with a hairmetal like feel. From the first time I heard "What You See/We All Bleed Red" on the Mortal Combat Soundtrack I was really digging it. "Locked" & "My Soul Is Wet" Great powerful thrash songs. "Dry Water" & "Get a Clue" great songs that teach us why metal must be loud. Rather then trying to articulate why its good, ill just say GET THIS ALBUM!

4.0 out of 5 stars Loud and Raw......Solid, January 14, 2012

My Soul Is Wet is a surprisingly solid album. Muthas Day Out have a very raw, loud and in your face kinda sound. The album has a very "live" sound to it which fits perfect with thier style of music. This is one of those all too rare discs thats solid from beginning to end. A band that faded away much too soon. Definitly a cd worth checking out.

So yeah I remember seeing their video on MTV back in tha day. Either on headbanger's ball, Beavis and Butthead, or both. I never had the album back then but I liked "Locked". Now you can get the cd so cheap I thought why not...At first I thought they would have just one good song and lots of filler but that's not the case. And you can't just go by the 30 second samples on here. Some songs change from beginning to end, taking them in various directions. I read somewhere that they were influenced by Faith No More and Beastie Boys, and you can definitely hear that in their music. I've been playing it in my car for a few days, I dig it. Too bad they fizzled out so soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blown Away, July 23, 2006

When I first heard the song "Locked" I was driving across the country by myself. I was somewhere in the middle of Nebraska at like 3 in the morning heading to NY. It was on some obscure radio station. I never knew they had a song in Mortal Kombat until today and I read the other reviews. Luckily I caught the name from the DJ. When I got back to NY I bought it immediately. This CD rules, too bad they never did another, every song could have been the hit song. Every few years I get back into it, then stop listening for a while to keep it fresh next time. Rock ON!

5.0 out of 5 stars Before their time, December 1, 2005

The Gizman "sWo" (illinois United States) - See all my reviews

These guys (teens at the time) had all the potential to be huge. 2 singers, smart lyrics, lots of energy, a video and a song in a soundtrack to a movie that was highly anticipated (Mortal Kombat).

but it it never happened.

A huge reason, i believe: Rage Against the Machine
The same style band that comes out at the same time with one major difference. Rage had the talent.

They can't even be considered a one hit wonder cause Locked was never popular and What U See (MK) was never played.

Still one of my all time favorite CD's.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great album...they could have been huge!!!, February 19, 2005

All the songs are classics. Locked is their classic song, heavy all the way through. My Soul is Wet has a nice bass groove in the beginning. Green is just rock in a softer form; good song. What U See/We All Bleed Red...louder than anything I've ever heard. Dry Water...excellent. Ding Ding Man...fun instrumental. Get a Clue works really well with the drum demo in the beginning. Nice combo of hip hop and rap. Blank Page...slower song, but still heavy. Memories Fade is a near-ballad, but is still good, nonetheless. Nice lesson behind the song. Breakfast First Please defines heavy metal. Wait for Me is just the heavy song people can headbang to. Ugly has some of the greatest lyrics ever:

"Ugly people need love too...no rest for the ugly, what's an ugly one to do?"

This hip hop thrash metal band could have been huge after their appearance in Mortal Kombat. Tragic that it all ended before it started. And they were from Batesville, Arkansas, of all places!
