This is a great Xmas Album that everyone must have! It blends many genres from gospel to funk to jazz. I think there is something in this album for everyone. This high-energy album will surely get everyone into the spirit of the holidays! My favorites are "Joy to the World," "Rudolph," "All Through The Christmas Nigh,t" (which is an original song by Culbertson and others) and "Little Drummer Boy" (in which Culbertson reharmonizes this tune giving it more spunk). I can listen to the album all the way through without wanting to skip songs like most Christmas albums. Definitey 5 stars!

This album contains many Christmas favorites masterfully performed by Culbertson, et al. It is definitely a disc that you will keep spinning all season long to promote the cheer. His wife Michelle contributes beautifully on the vocals to "Some Children See Him." I have a lot of Christmas albums in my collection, and I honestly have to say that this is one of the best I have yet to come across. This is definitely a compilation that the entire family will love. I highly recommend it to anyone who needs a little pizazz this holiday!

I have been a fan of Brian Culbertson for quite some time now, but his depth of talent and creativity never cease to amaze me. A Soulfull Christmas is nothing short of awesome! Joy To the World is the hottest holiday cover I've ever heard and Jingle Bells a close second. The original "All Through Christmas Night" sung by Michael McDonald is beautifully done. In fact, each song on this CD is done in a unique and captivating style with an exceptional group of artists. If you like jazz and like holiday music by jazz artists as I do, then add this to your collection. It will be your favorite of all. And, if you haven't seen Brian live, do so!

I loved every song! Especially Jingle Bells and Joy To The World. Michelle has a beautiful and calming voice! Listening to it every year will surely become a part of my family's Christmas tradition. Brian makes it seem so easy! He is truly talented and I would hope that one day, I could play 1/2 as well!

Brian Culbertson does a tremendous job on this album of taking old classics and revisiting them without ruining them. Many artists try so hard to be new and creative they do the songs an injustice - not so on "A Soulful Christmas".

As you listen to this album you realize the double-meaning behind the title. Culbertson mixes gospel singers (Joy To The World) with the soaring soprano of his wife (Some Children See Him) to put the attention on the `soul' of man. Note the rest of the tracks included.

He opens with a classical rendition of Joy To The World that swiftly transitions into a rollicking version of the same and keeps the quality at the highest level throughout. Some of the biggest names in smooth jazz collaborated with him in the studio such as Eric Darius, Eric Marienthal, Warren Hill, Peter White, Nathan East and the list goes on. There is not a track I would skip as they flow together effortlessly creating a treat for your family and loved ones as you gather during this special time of year.

This is a great jazzy Christmas cd. It has just the right mix of jazz and gospel jazz music. I enjoyed it immensely over the holidays and so did friends and family. Another great cd from Brian Culbertson.

Rudolph gets the East Bay Funk treatment with this ode to the Tower of Power complete with Mic Gillette-styled bone solo, Doc-like bari burps and Tower horn punches. This song will be screaming out of my car window this Christmas!

I first heard/saw in person- Brian Culbertson performing with the legendary Dave Koz-who we see every Christmas! And then listened to Brian on the radio station as a DJ. He is wonderful!! The CD was incredible and purchased it as gifts for friends.
Highly recommend him. One of our favorites. Look forward to hearing him every Christmas...or before.

We saw Brian at an annual Christmas show with Dave Koz this year. During the show, he played Funky Rudolph and mentioned it was from this CD. We bought it right after that and weren't disappointed with any of the songs. If you like Christmas music with a little jazz feel, this one is for you and you won't be sorry for purchasing. Brian's wife also sings on one of the songs, so it's a truly musical family.

a "new" Christmas must - just get it and be blessed for years to come
