metallians every where i have a treat for you, well not me personally but voice sure does. i have collected and worshipped power metal(classic, traditional, symphonic, mellodic, progressive, ethereal,or just plain old true metal) ever since i was about 8 years old. my cousin gave me an old stormwitch record and helloween's the walls of jericho on tape ( he was getting rid of things and i loved the art and he gave them to me. i listened to that old stormwitch record on my little fisher price record player repeatedly, i was hooked to metal from that point on. my collection includes a whopping 1000+cd's over 300 records and near 5-600 tapes. thats alot of metal you might say but to me i can not ever get enough. all this time i was surprised i had never heard of this band VOICE. and i am glad i did. i read a review in my century media catallog and it said the following (extremely catchy mellodic power metal. boasting progressive elements with commanding guitar riffs leading the charge) so naturally i had to check these guys out. also alot of cd's from other hot power metal bands had them noted in their thank's section of their cd booklets. i got the album SIGNS, the art was horrible but you can not judge a book buy its cover. that album is a beast. it was so catchy and just caught me totally off guard. there is a song on that album called without compulsion, and that song is fricking awesome. that song to me sums up what power metal is all about. but any who, back to the basics. ive strayed off the path of this album and written mostly about their album before this one, but i just wanted to let all you brothers and sisters in metal know how i became fortunate enough to come across this amazing band. SOULHUNTER strays away from the exellence that was golden signs, this is not a bad album but if you ever heard the album golden signs you would feel the same as i do, i mean i like some of the songs here but after listening to golden signs i had huge expectations for this cd. this is a band with tons of talent and potential, i just hope they do better next time like they did on golden signs.. i can hear alot of influences on this and the last cd . the guitars and the singer have many traits that remind me of many other bands at times. for example. in some songs the singer sounds sort of like ian parry of elegy. and some times he has this dc cooper type of thing going on(but no one can top dc cooper). and at other times he sounds alot like the lead singer of nocturnal rites. he can also sing with a darker gritty quality kind of like vhaldemar's singer or freternias singer. this guy has range, he may not be the best but he is truly the right man for voice(the man behind the voice). the guitars are awesome and very catchy and dynamic. if i was to put voice into a certain category of power metal i would compare them to bands like nocturnal rites, hammerfall, elegy and consortium project, majesty (sort of), crystal ball, there are also elements of such bands as freedom call and or edguy. so any way this band is way to un-appreciated and underrated. they deserve alot more recognition than they get. if you love power metal then do not pass up this awesome and highly talented band.also as in other reviews here, if you think this band is boring then you got issues, leave the real metal to the true metal heads to enjoy and go stick to your so called korn and rage against the machine, i mean that is what you so called people consider to be metal, im sorry i dont mean to put down what others like but it really angers me to see how bad some people put this style of music down all the time, you listen to or watch your mtv and ill continue to listen to what i truly like(POWER METAL). metallians the voice is calling you. there are some great songs here but this cd is sadly lacking what golden signs had, the songwriting is not even half as good as it could have been if metal is in your heart it will never leave and i leave you now with one request, crank up some hammerfall for me and keep the flame burning
brandon whitson, of bakersville north carolina.(BY THE WAY I MESSED UP HERE BECAUSE I WAS SUPPOSED TO GIVE THIS A 3 STAR RATING AND SOMEHOW PUT 5, THIS IS AT LEAST A 3 AND A HALF STAR ALBUM BUT THE LAST CD GOLDEN SIGNS WAS BEYOND A 5 STAR ALBUM, THAT CD IS KILLER

This album bored me to tears. I should probably give it a few more listens, but for now my rating out of 10 would be 6.5
