Book Description

May 20, 2008
Emi and Polly Leto are identical twins with a shared life—until Emi vanishes and Polly is left searching for what she has lost. Now one becomes two, and twindom becomes duplicity as myth and memory merge, forcing Emi and Polly to confront what they thought they knew about themselves and the parents who made them. Behind the twins is their creator, their mother Sarah, a woman without whom there would be no story to be told. From the edgy heart of London to a remote idyll on the Stockholm archipelago, this is a journey that explores the power of love, the damage wreaked by depression, and the agony of sexual deceit. It is a story about the genetic impact of nature wrestling with the heady demands of nurture, about patterns of behavior and the cruel turns of fate.

3.0 out of 5 stars Identical twins... Yet different..., July 3, 2008
This review is from: Soulmates (Paperback)
Emi and Polly are identical twins, named after Artemis, the Greek goddess of the moon and Apollo the god of the sun. Though twins, they are different; yet they share many life experiences. And then, suddenly, Emi vanishes. Without any news. Polly is left searching for Emi and while searching, examins their life together. Their life is created by Sarah, their mother.

From the chaos of London to a relative peaceful Stockholm Archipelago, this is a journey that explores the damage wreaked by depression and the power of love.

This book is nicely written. The story flows beautifully, told from the point of view of each twin and their mother... Showing how all three are intertwined and how the characters and behaviors of the twins shape up.

I found it a bit dark and depressing at many a times.
