5.0 out of 5 stars THIS BOOK STARTED ME ON THE ROAD., September 7, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: A Soul's Journey (Paperback)
I was housesitting a friends place in 1978 when I came across this book. Even though I hadnt lost anyone close to me - I found it a revelation. Since then I have lost a son, my Grandmother and Grandfather, a very close friend and an Uncle. This book inspired a life passion as I have read hundreds of books regarding re-incarnation, the cosmos, angels, life on other planets etc. But this story and title has remained in my memory forever. I intend searching for it until I find a copy - to read it again, 21 years later. So much has changed. It will be an even better read now that all this time has passed, and Ive experienced more of life. In 1978 A Souls Journey introduced me to a topic that has become a major source of interest for me; for that I am eternally grateful.

This book is THE one book I recommend to all my friends and family. There is so much truth, on numerous subjects, revealed in these pages. Some people have searched their whole lives to discover only a fraction of what can be found here. I'm talking about the author's ability to beautifully describe the indescibable. It's a wonderful story on ALL levels.

It works as a love story, as a guide to the higher planes and as a texbook on reincarnation. One cannot help but be moved and uplifted by the author's experiences.

I have given this book to two people who had terminal cancer. They both said that reading it was the best gift they could have ever received. It gave them a comfort and an acceptance of what was to come that they did not have before. It is a wonderful book for anyone who has ever lost a loved one. It is a book that will satisfy one's own soul about that great unknown....death and the afterlife.

5.0 out of 5 stars Strikes a chord, November 26, 2000

This is the best book I have ever read on life when not in physical form...including when you are asleep. I have some experience with "out of body" and this book confirms what I "know" and then travels so much further. I have read it many times and everytime I do it realigns me to where I should be. It is time I read it again...

5.0 out of 5 stars Divine guidance in a book, January 20, 2007
This review is from: A Soul's Journey (Classics of Personal Development) (Paperback)
How I came about this book will tell you much about the truth of its teachings. My physical body died on May 15th, 1991 while I was in the hospital. I had never given much thought to the possibility of life after death before this. Everything about shedding my physical body and journeying to this non-physical realm was new to me. What happened next was extraordinary! Meeting a Being of Light, regaining the memories of who I truly am, of who I was prior to coming to mortality, being given a choice to remain or to go back to mortality, the revelation that I had come to earth to accomplish a mission, etc. Much can be said about this amazing journey but this is not the place to do so.

Little did I know that my Near-Death-Experience (NDE) had opened a door to the other side. Things started hapening that I did not expect. I started seeing energy, having visions and even hearing a voice. At first, these things frightened me and I tried to repress them. As time went by, I became more confortable and started allowing these things to happen. (I found out much later that an NDE will sometimes bring on abilities such as clairvoyance and clairaudience)

The "Voice" as I call it, does not come often but when it does I listen, for it always guides me in the right direction. One such instance took place a few years ago. I had just purchased several books and had left the bookstore when the "Voice" came. It directed me to go back to the bookstore and guided me towards this book, A Soul's Journey. I purchased the book and I was reading it on the plane back home the following day. The "Voice" came again and said: "a sister will sit next to you". I was so absorbed by the book that I did not pay attention to the young woman who sat next to me. She initiated the conversation by asking what book I was reading and what it was all about. I told her about the teachings in the book which lead me to also tell her about my NDE. She started crying, telling me she had been praying for over a year asking for a sign that there is life after death. And here we were... this book and I on her path. I never saw her again. But I trust that my story and the teachings in this book came when she needed them.

This is an extraordinary book! Not only is there life after death but there is purpose to your life. You are the physical extension of your divine self. Reading this book will help you understand the journey you are on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Peace of Mind, February 4, 2002
This review is from: A Soul's Journey (Paperback)
After reading this book I truly felt that there would be the right place for my soul to go just waiting for me, and that I've already been there several times in this lifetime. If you queston the traditional beliefs of what is going to happen, read this book and you might just find something you can live with and die with.

5.0 out of 5 stars what is after death?, January 12, 2003
This review is from: A Soul's Journey (Classics of Personal Development) (Paperback)
If you ever wondered about this, read this book. I read this book as a teenager and re-read it again recently. It is based on a true story based on the author's experience. He was taken out of his body to visit the 'other side' of death. Reading this book gives a person hope and reassurance that death is not the end. There are other books published about life after death but I think this is one of the earlier books and the message remains the same. It's not the comfort or material gain one takes to the other side, instead it is compassion and love.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a must for anyone who has lost someone close..., March 13, 1999

I first read A Soul's Journey as far back as 1985 or so, I'm not sure. Point is, it really helped me in ways that I never ever imagined possible! My father passed away on 22 November 1997. Cancer. Since I had read this book, and had "a better understanding" of the concept of life-and-death, his suffering was the only pain I felt. At no time did I feel sad for his death. My mother was obviously quite shattered. They'd been together for some 28 years. She had never lost anyone close to her - she grew up in a children's home, so was not close to her mother or biological father. I introduced her to a copy of A Soul's Journey that I got from the local library. She read it, we had long discussions about it, and she was literally fine within days afterwards!

I recommend this book highly!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A book of spirituality that can be read on many levels., November 26, 1996
By A Customer
This review is from: A Soul's Journey (Classics of Personal Development) (Paperback)
A Soul's Journey is a beautifully written book that can be read on many levels. It tells the true story of a young Englishman in India who is given the opportunity by an ascended master to travel out of his body. He describes many wonderous beings and areas of the astral plane[heaven]. He is also able to resolve his own doubts of the afterlife and bring closure with loved ones who have passed on. This is a comforting book for both those who believe in its veracity as well as those who consider it a very remarkable journey by someone with an over-active imagination. Whether you read this book as fiction or non-fiction, you can't helped but be moved by wonderous settings that we all hope our late loved ones are enjoying...and that we ourselves will one day come to enjoy

5.0 out of 5 stars A really inspiring book, September 12, 2001

This review is from: A Soul's Journey (Classics of Personal Development) (Paperback)
I was recommended this book by a friend who'd lost her boyfriend in a motorcycle accident. I must say that it was one of the most enjoyable and inspirational books I have ever read.

I must admit that I was a little suspicious about how accurate the descriptions of life in the spirit realms are, especially as the writer used a nom-de-plume and nobody seems to know much about him. However since then I have done a great deal of reading and talking to a lot of people who have had similar out of body experiences, and nothing yet has contradicted anything mentioned in the book. In fact, everything has correlated perfectly with the personal experiences I've come across.
Another good thing about it is that it's written in a pretty matter-of-fact way and doesn't push any particular religious point of view or have any axe to grind.

I recommend it very highly indeed for its enjoyment and inspirational value.
