Time for East to Meet West -- Christianity and the Issue of Reincarnation,
By Smoky Mountain Maven (Knoxville, TN United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Soul's Long Journey: How the Bible Reveals Reincarnation (Rudolf Steiner, Anthroposophy and the Holy Scriptures) (Paperback)
Again, Ed Smith, that fearless Sunday School teacher from Lubbock, has taken on a crucial task -- attempting to speak to his fellow Christians about the concept of reincarnation.
Reincarnation, anathema for so long to Christians, is an idea that is clearly coming to the fore -- especially since so many people in recent years have had near death experiences and talked about them publicly. This is no longer a concept that can be laughed off, explained away, or dismissed out of hand as "not Christian." In fact, if we're honest with ourselves, I think we'll all admit that "three score and ten" years of life in simply not enough time to learn to be a real Christian. This is a truly important work for bridging consciousness and referencing the discussion with the bible. |
