5.0 out of 5 stars A Soul's Rememberance, June 13, 2000
This review is from: The Soul's Remembrance (Hardcover)
I was hesitant at first to purchase this book because it was "slim." I wasn't sure of its contents, until I sat down and read a few pages and realized once AGAIN...that size has NOTHING to do with content! Once again, I cought myself in an earthly pre-judgement that finds all of us taking more aspirin then we should because MORE is BETTER. I have been studying NDE's (Near Death Experiences) since Raymond J. Moody's classic text came out in the late 1970's, read hundreds of personal accounts, and sifted so many books that I can't count them all, just looking for the kind of succinct, important and personal information that Roy has written so well. In fact, I found myself crying a little bit towards the end when he discussed the Hall where God gives each little soul an interview and a mission...once again, like in Conversations with God, Book 1 (page 69), there was a hint...that if you were reading this book then...umm, well, I won't spoil it for you. Roy's experience is with the classical angel (one of which even had wings), but I know that many other people have recognized them and called them "guides," "teachers," "advanced spirits..." and many other names. I am of the belief that we are presented by these beings with a shape and form that we can assoicate with and recognize. If Roy had been a Buddhist, they may have looked like a Tibetan Lama. But once again, looks are not what count...its the content and the message. The message is the same message I have read over and over and over again...it is the only true messsage that comes from God...Unconditional Love...eternal life...forgiveness...compassion. These are God-Words. I know from my heart and soul, and from more than twenty years of study...his book comes from God...the message is always the same whether the advanced beings are angels with wings, or guides or Tibetan Lamas.

His bent is affirmative of Christian theology, Jesus being the Savior, even in the face of a huge pointing angel insisting that Roy look at something. You have to read the book to get what I mean.

One question I do have, and that is, when it was time for Roy to be escorted to earth to be put into a body, his angel guide made the startling remark..."I can't believe it is him!" referring to a huge angel. We are not told who this HIM is, but I would love to know...does Roy know?

Time and again, I read books and accounts which affirm Roy's before life experience...rooms in buildings, many rooms where things are discussed and taught. Remembering Jesus' own words..."In my Father's House there are many mansions."

But I think that those who study before life/afterlife and death related experiences must know that the message contained in his book is not singular...it is one of MANY, even though we might learn of these facts by other means such as a death rememberance, or by hypnotherapy, by a personal recounting...Roy had a unique question granted to remember from birth...something few of us have the priviledge of because he is so right...If we knew, we would always make the right choices in life and fail to make those decisions which although bringing us pain and displeasure, advance our soul and accelerate our growth. That is the point of why we do not remember. but as in Conversations with God, God said in so many words...All of Life is a Re-Memberance! That is the struggle we all have to go through if we are going to make a worthwhile effort down here in our temporary bodies.

I am not going to give the whole story away to you, but this is a read well worth the effort. In any case, it will definitely help you to re-member some things you had forgotten that you should definitely know about. It's good soul food, lol! I give an A+ to Roy.

This review is from: The Soul's Remembrance (Hardcover)
We all need a reminder once in a while why we are here and this book is the best! I couldn't put it down and loved every word. By the end of the first chapter, I ordered 5 copies for my sisters and friends. I can't wait to read it again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Expecting Parents take Special Note, March 16, 2000
This review is from: The Soul's Remembrance (Hardcover)
The Soul's Remembrance: Earth is not our home, by Roy Mills, is an account of the author's continuous memory from an existence before being born to his present day existence of life here on earth. While the vast majority of us go through a forgetting of a pre-life when we incarnate, Mr. Mills' unique vantage point addresses a spectrum of spiritual questions from life's littlest curiosities to it's deepest mysteries. However, don't look to Mr. Mills to provide a sophisticated, philosophical approach to spirituality. On the contrary, it is his down to earth sincerity that makes his account compelling, uplifting and, at times, delightful. One of the most intriguing stories in the book is the author's experience in the womb. Have you ever wondered what it is really like for the unborn child? For this account alone I highly recommend this book to any perspective parent, grandparent or friend of an expecting parent. This book may surprise you, delight you, support your faith or challenge it. It has answered many questions for me, but it has also opened new areas of inquiry. If you do buy this book you may find yourself buying another copy for a loved one.
