rock for the 21rst century!!,
This review is from: Souls of We (Audio CD)
the description above has it dead on!! this is a great collaboration between lynch and legrand, and the results speak for themselves. don't expect a throwback to 80's metal(like lot of "new" releases by 80's bands reunited), it is beyond that and better!! 4 years in the making and all that hard work comes through in every note....

Another great George Lynch CD,

I must start by saying that George never disappoints when it comes to putting out good material. That is a fact! I have been a big fan since the "Breaking The Chains" album by Dokken. I was very suprised to see that George has changed his sound so much compared to his Dokken and Lynch Mob days. George released his latest project in early 2008 called "Souls Of We - Let The Truth Be Known" It has a different sound that I really enjoyed. On 11/04/08 George released his "George Lynch's Souls Of We - Let The Truth Be Known" CD. They are clearly two different CDs by appearance and title. I compared the "Souls Of We - Let The Truth Be Known" CD to the recently released "George Lynch's Souls Of We - Let The Truth Be Known" CD and they both have the exact same songs on them with the exception of one extra song called "Nork 13" on the new CD. There is really no reason to buy this CD if you already have the "Souls Of We - Let The Truth Be Known" CD like me that can be found at [...]. If you are a collector then you will probably want to buy the new CD for which I am writing this review. I hope you will give this CD a chance. It took a couple days to grow on me but I listen to it everyday day now. Any true George Lynch fan should own this CD.

I also have been a huge George Lynch fan from the early 1980's and remember like it was yesterday the day that the album Back for the Attack came out and I first heard Kiss of Death. I think Lynch's guitar/amp tone on that album was the best he's ever found, with Lynch Mob's Wicked Sensation album a close second, but this Souls of We CD rivals both of those albums in both song quality and guitar tone. I can not stop listening to it. In the last 24 hours I've listened to the entire album nearly 4 times in it's entirety. It is incredible from start to finish. Legrand is a great compliment to Lynch's scorching guitar playing and they just seem to gel together to make a near perfect album. For Lynch fans this purchase is an absolute must. You will not be disappointed.

Disappointed in George,

I really expected more from George, though looking at his past few releases, I really don't know why.
This singer is awful. That must be why "Hollywood" never made it, and "Brides of Destruction" flopped. The "Furious George" project was good, but NOTHING since, to include the Lynch/Pilson or REvolution Lynch Mob effort, has been worth the money spent to purchase, or the time wasted in listening... and, I'm a big George Lynch fan. I'm just disappointed.

George!! What were you thinking!?!?!,

I have been a huge George Lynch fan since watching him rehearse with Dokken at Music Works before Breaking The Chains was even recorded and after being blown away by the Lynch Pilson CD I was totally expecting another great work. Boy was I disappointed!!! This CD is total garbage! The songs are not even remotely interesting or catchy and the so called singer is awful!! Horrible voice and emotionless delivery. If there was some good guitar, I could suffer through it but alas, there isn't. I deleted it, it is that bad!!! George, you don't need to be a back-up player!! :o(

This is just another one of MANY horrible George Lynch releases. There is only ONE "descent" track on it, and that isn't even that good to qualify a one star rating.Unfortunately , Amazon won't let you leave that part blank.George Lynch should really listen to the 3 or 4 "actual" fans he has and get back to his roots...whatever they are.,bubble gum metal i guess?

Just goes to show that after some artists hit the big time they put out just any old crap and believes that we are sheep and will buy just because their name is on it. But no I enjoy music too much to fall into that trap. Terrible album. Sorry George.

I love this album. Can get heavy at times with substance. London's absolutely incredible voice makes it for me.

While there is not a ton of George shredding on this, I was surprised at how good the CD is. Once again George shows how good he is at rhythm playing. If you have an open mind going in and are not expecting a Dokken or Lynch Mob CD you will enjoy it!!!

George Lynch,

The songs have some interesting ideas in them, but George's playing is not mixed very well. Over the past few years he's been keeping his guitars quiet in the final studio mixes, and usually under a lot of effects and overdubs. It's almost like he's trying to hide. His guitar is not "in your face" like during the early Lynch Mob days, like how a virtuoso's playing should be. I have to really listen closely to hear what George is playing. The songwriting is pretty cool for the most part and it's better than most material that George has put out in the 21st century. Some of the riffs sound familiar; some are from the "Smoke This" album! George's choice of singers is something I've never fully been in agreement with. This singer is decent, but nothing special, and maybe George likes it that way. I wish he would do a fully instrumental album for once! I suggest you get this album if you enjoy George Lynch's guitar playing. I personally think George can do better, but I think his age is getting to him.
