5.0 out of 5 stars Original Version of this movie fun for Sci Fi fans
This movie was roasted on MST3K. But the original uncut version is fun viewing for fans of the genre.

1.0 out of 5 stars Take my soul, please!
I saw the MST3K version of this rhinestone and can tell you it's amazing anyone financed this low grade, '80s movie-of-the-week. The young leading lady is also the "movie's" screenwriter; in film school she should have had her soul taken and beaten with a bat. Joe Estevez--aka Martin Sheen's brother--is about as intimidating as a bag boy at the supermarket...

The young leading lady is also the "movie's" screenwriter; in film school she should have had her soul taken and beaten with a bat. Joe Estevez--aka Martin Sheen's brother--is about as intimidating as a bag boy at the supermarket. The "special effects" weren't. The storyline comes out of nowhere and leads back there, taking neither your soul nor interest. It's usually a good idea to feel some empathy for the characters, interest in the plot and surprise at the end...but this flick is woefully short on good ideas.

1.0 out of 5 stars This film sucks, May 17, 1999

This review is from: Soultaker [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I saw it on MST3K and it was perfect bot fodder. It says 1991, but it looks like 1985. The leading lady was also the not-so-talented screenwriter (I hope she hasn't written anything else). Joe Estevez looks about as scary as a Boy Scout. The story makes zero sense and theres a scene that involves incestuous/homoerotic overtones that is downright creepy. Watch in MST3K, that's the only way to live through it.

4.0 out of 5 stars This was no the best movie, but definately worth seeing., August 7, 1999

This movie had a corny plot but none the less was exciting. It was fun to watch and it was a good idea to make a movie off. This movie would have been a little morre successful had there been decent actors, but it was still good do to the action that kept it suspendeful. This movie is a must see for horror lovers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Soultaker before Final Destination, January 24, 2001

Wow, when I finally watched this movie, I was impressed that this concept was done before "Final Destination" came out. I really like this movie and if your a fan of "Final Destination" you should check out this movie.

4.0 out of 5 stars Double Reality Check, November 3, 1999

I've noticed there's quite a difference of opinion about this movie. Some people really love it and some people don't.

It's low budget and I wouldn't give it 5 stars, but it's very imaginative and original and anyone who would put it down with a lot of snide and mean comments probably didn't really watch it very closely. Overall very interesting.

5.0 out of 5 stars A New Kind Of Monster, August 26, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Soultaker [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Ten years before "BLAIR WITCH" surprised bored teens by presenting a new style to terror... a group of filmmakers in Alabama broke the ice with the first "death angel" flick that spawned a whole series of copycats. While the film's title character "SOULTAKER", Joe Estevez, sometimes mugs in a style of an early silent movie, the strength of the concept and the other performances keep this clever thriller moving. Some hot-shot executive in Hollywood's going to make a big mark if this film is ever re-shot with major stars. Check it out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Soultaker, September 7, 2005
This review is from: Soultaker (DVD)
I saw this movie on the Science Fiction Network and loved it! I even recorded the encore presentation the next day! I liked the eeriness and action of the four displaced souls racing to get to their bodies before the angel of death laid claims on them. I'd recommend this movie to anyone who like science fiction in general.

1.0 out of 5 stars I enjoyed it, because I watched it on MST3K., April 17, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Soultaker [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I saw this movie on Mystery Science Theater 3000, a show that is able to turn a bad wanna be horror movie into a comedy. If you want to see this movie, see it on an MST3K rerun on the Sci-fi Channel. I can't get enough of those little robots. DO NOT RENT THIS MOVIE ON VIDEO!
