Book Description

Sound Bites October 1, 2005
Sound Bites: The Wit of The Beatles celebrates the down-to-earth humor of these four happy-go-lucky, cheeky Liverpool lads. Although undoubtedly the most influential band of the 20th Century, John, Paul, George, and Ringo also proved they had a natural gift for comedy—especially when faced with the 1960s media circus. Featuring a host of pithy remarks as well as tales from their many film and music ventures, the book is illustrated throughout with nostalgic pictures of the band.

5.0 out of 5 stars Speaking Words of Wisdom..., February 14, 2007
This review is from: Sound Bites: The Wit of the Beatles (Hardcover)
The Beatles were not only gifted musicians, they were gifted comics as well. They were famous for their quick wit and humorous one liners. In early 1964, when a reporter asked John Lennon how he found America, he said, "turn left at Greenland." On the Beatles' 1963 Christmas album, John introduces himself by saying, "John speaking with his voice!" How I love Beatle humor!

I loved the first press conference the Beatles gave when they arrived in America on February 7, 1964. Later that same year, their first movie "A Hard Day's Night" was released and it was replete with delightful Beatle humor as each Beatle was written as his own "character."

The photographs are every bit as wonderful as the Beatles' humor and will no doubt delight all readers.
