I think anyone would be hard pressed to find any professional sound designer that does not own a copy of this book . It is the industry standard sound design handbook, covering all aspects of design and execution.

this book has loads of fabulous information for those interested in sound design. it can be a bit of a dry read during the technical chapters, but overall it is truly outstanding. it's a shame this book is out of print.
