Well, maybe that's an exageration....but not by much!!

I don't have much of a collection by Paul Desmond but these are all tunes that he loved to play and with the instrumentation he favored following the disbandment of the Dave Brubeck Quartet. Paul Desmond was a very lyrical player and in this tribute set, the warmth of feeling and the musicianship is more than right.

This set is melodic, subtle, and swinging. It's a set made for late night , relaxation and reminiscing. This is truly a tribute that is good for Brent Jensen, for good music, and ultimately, for the listeners.

I had never heard of Brent Jensen until I heard him on Pandora. If you are a fan of Paul Desmond, I highly recommend this album. It has great Desmond tunes and a great Desmond sound. The bonus is that you get modern recording quality which sounds much better than Desmond's recordings from the 50's and 60's.

I look forward to checking out Mr. Jensen's other recordings.

A great CD - good for relaxing with a dry martini and that someone special. Classics in a mellow mood. Beautiful!

Jensen is most worthy of carrying Desmond's torch. For those who haven't yet tasted its delights, this is a fine introduction to the Sound of Desmond. Lovingly played, as melodic and lyrical as the Master, and a 5-star listening pleasure. Thanks, Brent -- I'll happily add this to my Desmond collection.
