salsa roots,

if you're looking to find the "roots" of salsa... the original feel and mood of the music, this is a great mix. various artists (some english-speaking) combine to give a wide spectrum of the origins of salsa. not the disc if you're looking for dance music for a party, although a couple tracks would be perfect for that.

Fania is the only name you need to know in salsa. They have their own compilations, but this on from Starbucks is a good place to start!
