Average Book: No Indexing between CD and Text, February 19, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: The Sound and Feel of Blues Guitar (Paperback)
Not a bad basic acoustic blues instruction book -- but not a particularly inspired one either. Just a collection of riffs that are too advanced for rank beginners and too simple for those with a few years of playing under their belt.
More than half of the examples are in alternate tunings. That's neither good or bad but you should know that going in.
Also, the CD is helpful, but there is no index correlating the page in the book to the CD and vice versa. It's easy to get hopelessly lost between the two rather quickly. That's too bad. It was publishing shortcut that would have made all the differnce between the book being used or sitting on the shelf collecting dust.
Try any of the Kenny Sultan instructional books by the same publisher. They are far superior.

Obviously the previous review was written by a competitor,
trying to promote their own work, It amazes me just how far
some people will go. This Sound and Feel of Blues is a well thought out book which has sold thousands of copies. And it just so happens that Sultan works for a major competitor. By the way this book sold well and got great reviews from its first release till now. Probably needs a sequel.
