I recommend purchasing The Seminar Series: Professional Training for Sound Forge Software. (I wish they'd just include this with the Suite.) This training focuses on new features so it assumes you have some background in sound editing. It comes with a companion disc will all the files that are demonstrated in the tutorial, so you can follow along.

This is a good, easy-to-understand tutorial. It is beautifully paced and the presenter's voice is pleasant, confident and clean. (I looked at several others. Amazingly, the sound quality often wasn't good and the several speakers had a strange accent. One had the habit of running his words together. You'd think, for a tutorial on sound editing, the sound quality of the tutorial would be excellent and the teacher would speak clearly and in English that could be easily understood by listeners any place in the world.)

The tutorial hits the high points and moves right along. After all, if you don't understand something, you can replay that section and practice until you get it.
