About the Author

Born into a musical family, Marjorie de Muynck's interest in tuning forks, sound and vibration was awakened at an early age. Her medicinal interest in Sound Healing and tuning forks grew and coalesced in 1995 when she co-founded the Kairo's Institute of Sound Healing, and co-developed the Acutonics sound healing system and co-authored the textbook, There's No Place Like Ohm: Sound Healing, Oriental Medicine and the Cosmic Mysteries.

As a graduate of the ISIS School of Massage in 1983, Marjorie was a part of an early movement of professionals who helped to create certification standards for Massage Practitioners. As a prodigious student, practitioner and instructor of alternative healing modalities, Marjorie attended and graduated from the Seattle Shiatsu Institute (1983-1986) and has now studied Oriental Medicine for over 25 years. She taught Shiatsu, Hara Diagnosis, Kundalini Yoga, Reiki and Sound Healing at the Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine for 6 years. At present, Marjorie continues her medical studies at the Southwest Acupuncture College in Santa Fe.

Marjorie is a pioneer of musical compositions in the key of Ohm: There's No Place Like Ohm Volumes 1 & 2 (Lemniscate Music, 2002 & 2005) and In the Key of Earth (Sounds True, 2007). At present, she is researching the acoustic properties of animal and plant sounds for her forthcoming CD, Vibrational Healing Music (Sounds True, Spring 2009), which follows in the same tradition.

I just finished Marjorie de Muynck's new book and DVD set "Sound Healing, Vibrational Healing with Tuning Forks". What I like most about it is the simplicity, so EVERYONE gets to learn how easy and powerful sound therapy is. Sometimes in the midst of musicians, acupuncturists, mathmeticians and metaphysicians I feel a bit unqualified to compete in their world when it comes to technical/scientific knowledge. Ms. de Munyck's information is easy to understand and follow. It feels clear, concise and sacred. I would wholeheartedly recommend her book to anyone with even the slightest curiosity and/or interest in the healing possibilities of sound therapy. You may just fall in love.
