About the Author
Farrier Lisa S. Lancaster has been trimming and shoeing horses since 1998. Her practice emphasizes education for horse owners in holistic hoof care. She trained at the Colorado School of Trades, and is a member of the American Farrier's Association.
Lisa grew up in New England and learned horsemanship as a member of the 4-H and US Pony Club organizations. For over 30 years she has been riding, training and competing horses, participating in various disciplines including dressage, distance riding and combined training.
Lisa acquired her PhD from the University of Denver and at the time of publication of this book was completing her doctor of veterinary medicine. Concurrently, she was earning a Masters degree researching microanatomy of the horse's hoof.
Lisa lives in Colorado with her husband John.
