4.0 out of 5 stars Great headset.. second time around
I used this headset for three weeks with my ATT Tilt and then my iPhone 3GS. No issues; call quality was great. Best headset I have used to date. Then, out of the blue, it would not turn off. 3.0 out of 5 stars Sound ID 300 Bluetooth Headset
Sound quality on the other end was tinny and echo. Did not stand up to the reviews I read about it.

I used this headset for three weeks with my ATT Tilt and then my iPhone 3GS. No issues; call quality was great. Best headset I have used to date. Then, out of the blue, it would not turn off. I tried a number of things referring to the manual and then ultimately calling customer service. I even let the battery die. Sound ID replaced it with no issues.. and now I have a new one that works great.

I am not happy with the inconvenience of having a defective unit the first time around (-1 star) but the company stands behind their product and it is a good headset. I would definitely recommend this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best I've had so far, July 1, 2009

When I got my Sound ID 300 headset I was expecting a bit better than some of the headsets I've had before. What I got was better than I imagined. This headset is very comfortable and I sometimes forget that I am wearing it! Most of the people I call don't know I'm wearing a headset and the noise cancellation works so well that many don't hear my (very active) kids in the back seat of my car! I would recommend this headset to anyone looking for a high-quality product that delivers what it promises.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great bluetooth headset!, September 9, 2009
This review is from: Sound ID 300 Bluetooth Headset - Ebony Black (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I was skeptical when I ordered this one. I have never had one that really had the battery last as long as advertised. But I received this one on 9/3/09 and charged it for the first time and I just put it on charge for the second time on 9/9/09. I would leave it on all day and turn it off at night until the last couple of nights I left it on continuous. I am amazed how long the battery lasts! The sound quality is ok. The caller on the other end can hear you without complaining. I have left a couple of voice mails on my work and home phone. It sounds pretty good. Not as good as the Jawbone, but the ear piece and ear hook are much better. and it is soooo small and light! I am very pleased with this headset.Sound ID 300 Bluetooth Headset (Ebony Black)

5.0 out of 5 stars The only Bluetooth headset you'll want!, August 18, 2009

I'm an account rep. traveling on the interstate (driving at high speed which produces a lot of back ground noise) all week long and nothing compares in the quality of sound received and transmitted along with comfort. I've used several Motorola's, Jawbones I and II and Plantronics over the years. This has excellent noise cancelling and dual mics that are very sensitive (having good pick up). It easily connects to your phone when powered up (once you've set the phone up of course, which is easy). All Bluetooth devices will encounter some radio interference at one point or another but this is simply the best for hours of continuous operation. Your ear won't ache compared to wearing the others I mentioned. It has a couple of different size ear buds that are easily changed and stay in your ear without having to force it into your ear to hear. If you want to switch to your other ear, simply rotate the ear bud a quarter inch and that's all. It has a micro USB charger for charging from a USB on a PC and a compact AC charger. The Sound ID 300 is by far the best, being the most comfortable to wear, producing the best sound quality. They also stand by their warranty.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Bluetooth Headset, July 30, 2009

This review is from: Sound ID 300 Bluetooth Headset - Ebony Black (Wireless Phone Accessory)
SWEET!! I went to Best Buy one week ago to tryout headsets. I thought I was going to get the Jawbone Prime, but after using it in the store, I was not impressed with the fit or sound quality, and neither were the people I was talking with. The lady at Best Buy said it was just because the headsets aren't fully charged in the boxes. They don't carry the Sound ID 300 headset, so I just decided to purchase it from Amazon and chance it. What luck!! The fit for my ears is great, not perfect, but not intrusive or uncomfortable. The sound quality out of the box (without a full charge) was much improved over what the Jawbone had to offer. Money well spent! It's nice to have a phone and a headset with the same charger too (micro USB).

5.0 out of 5 stars This headset makes my wife very happy, June 1, 2009
This review is from: Sound ID 300 Bluetooth Headset - Ebony Black (Wireless Phone Accessory)
Now when I call my wife from the road she can hear me clearly; she says it's as if I was on a land line.

I have had many headsets but this one works the best of all of them. It does an excellent job eliminating the road noise and best of all it fits my ear perfectly.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good headset most of the time; Questionable customer service, March 18, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sound ID 300 Bluetooth Headset - Ebony Black (Wireless Phone Accessory)
UPDATE: I did receive a call from Sound ID and apparently they will return the headset. It appears the customer service person I spoke with was unclear that they will accept returns through Amazon. However, before I send the headset back, I'm going to try to "reset" it per instructions they emailed.

Even if the headset does begin to work properly (the mystery shut down issue is very sporadic), they still need to work on their customer service a bit. I do appreciate the call from Sound ID. However, their call center (third party?) should be better trained.

------------------

The headset itself works okay. The background noise is much less than my other headset although people do hear a fair amount of noise when driving. The main problem is that it will turn off for no apparent reason. Thus, the headset can be fully charged and it will turn off mid-conversation. Which, you can imagine, is a real issue. The person is still on the phone but you have to then pick up your phone to continue the conversation.

So I figured I had a defaulty headset...overall it was pretty good. I'll just return it and get a new one. No company can manufacture a perfect product all the time. This is when I called Sound ID to have the headset replaced and they indicated it would not be replaced since I purchased it from Amazon. NOT GOOD! So basically, the 1 year warranty isn't worth a penny if you purchase from Amazon. If after reading these reviews you want to purchase the headset, buy it from a walk-in retailer.

This is the 2nd bluetooth headset that I have owned and my search can stop here. The in-coming sound is clear and I have had no comments from people at the other end that there is bothersome noise when I am talking. I especially like the inner loop for the ear to hold the device in. It is a superb design. There is nothing sticking over or around the outside of the ear and it is unobtrusive, comfortable and very functional. The headset always stays in and you can comfortably wear glasses with it. I would recommend this headset highly.

4.0 out of 5 stars simple, but works well, September 27, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sound ID 300 Bluetooth Headset - Ebony Black (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I have tried a number of bluetooth headsets, and this one is just right for my needs. Not too fancy, just works well for what it does.

Dislikes - buttons are very small.
Likes - sound quality is excellent, ear pieces come in variety of sizes to fit every ear.

Pushing the on-off button (on back edge) should be easier. The volume button (on side) is too small to bother with. But once I got the right sized ear piece to fit, it is comfortable and sounds great. Solid choice in reasonably priced bluetooth headset.
