Since finding this album again...gotta say, im a big fan.
While it is thin, its very good CD put out by these guys.

3.0 out of 5 stars Somewhat disappointed
I was heartbroken to hear that Trust Company had broken up, but estatic to hear that they were coming back as Amity Lane. I'm going to make this review short: There are a few good tracks: Shutting Eyes, Drown You Out, Million Miles Away. The rest came off as watery and bland. I was hoping for a different style than the old Trust Co sound with just a few similar elements...

If you were hoping for the greatness that was Lonley Position of Neutral then expect to be disappointed.

3.0 out of 5 stars Trustcompany Lite., November 9, 2006
This review is from: Sound of Regret (Audio CD)
It wasn't long after Trustcompany's split in the summer of 2005 that frontman Kevin Palmer got together with his wife, Layla, and former bassist Josh Moates to form a new group: Amity Lane. You can bet this group sounds a lot like Trustcompany, which can be considered both a good and a bad thing. However, for fans who have missed the style Trustco. brought to the table, Amity Lane could be breath of fresh air.

Sounds Like: Take a guess...

The Good:
- Kevin's voice sounds just as well as ever, and the backing vocals of Layla help out quite a bit.

The Bad:
- The production is limp at best. The riffs sound thinner than paper.
- Most of the songs sound like bad Trustcompany b-sides.
- I hear this band won't be doing much touring. What's the point in making music, then?

Hits: Songs like "Drown You Out" "Say Goodnight" and "Shutting Eyes" are just as good as the old Trustcompany material, and the ballad, "Waiting For Goodbye" is nice as well.

Misses: "Edge Of Your Heart" is too corny to believe.

Future: Amity Lane will please most Trustco. fans and they just may be able to squeeze a radio hit out of the album.

Personally: I really dug Trustcompany and was sad to see them go, especially on such a high note. But I can't honestly say that Amity Lane is living up to Kevin's previous work. I'll always be a fan and I will follow Amity Lane as far as they go, but if you're letting a band go, it's best not to try and ape their sound. In other words, I hope Amity Lane can find a new style instead of rehashing old stuff. Why not just continue under the old name?

Best Listened To When: You need something like Trustcompany.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great Cd, November 23, 2008
This review is from: Sound of Regret (Audio CD)
I bought this Cd for the sole purpose that Kevin Palmer is in the band. I'm a Trust Company Fan and think Kevin Palmer is like the Hottest guy I have ever laid my eyes on. When I found out he was married and his wife is in the band with him I was a bit turned off but once I listened to it, I was impressed with it. The songs are really good and remind me of the trust company days. If you love trust company and of course Kevin Palmer, you'll love this CD.

4.0 out of 5 stars not quite TrustCo but close.., November 11, 2006

Man I was shocked when i went to Trustco's website and the forums laid dormant since summer last year man i missed the news on the break up later on myspace caught up with former drummer whos in a band called Arm in Arms and asked WTH happened to trust company and he replied that it was a two sided story that i should ask kevin i was saddened to hear of the break-up but out from the ashes emerges Kevin,His wife, and guitarist forming the group known as Amity Lane (the street that Kevin grew up on)Kevin has said that the Album title symbolizes making a fresh new start. I think this is a good cd and was disappointed to hear that there won't be much touring but I am just glad to hear Kevin's vocals again I think they sound great I just hope they have the same success as trustco did all in all a really good cd.

P.S. to me the cd cover looks a shade like the old Trust Co type of cover.

5.0 out of 5 stars Freaking Amazing, November 3, 2006
This review is from: Sound of Regret (Audio CD)
Awesome album, and one of the most anticipated, for me, in 2006

01. Drown You Out 11/10-2nd Favorite song, it is just so awesome. 1st single. Awesome guitar riffs thorughout, and they really made the drums sound good on this one. Awesome start-off song

02. Shutting Eyes 12/10-Favorite songs, keys at the beginning add an awesome touch. Screaming in the chorus is outstanding. Screaming near the end is top-notch as well

03. Die For You 10/10-Most likely gonna be the second single. Nice weird intro to it with the weird background riffs. Awesome vocals, especially the scream before the last chorus

04. Waiting For Goodbye 10/10-3rd favorite song. Slow in the verses but then that awesome riff just as the chorus starts and a great emotional song.

05. Running Away 10/10-Awesome song, probably my 4th favorite. Awesome build up from the verse to the chorus. Good lyrics

06. Edge Of Your Heart 9/10-2nd Least favorite song. Too slow for my taste. Good lyrics

07. Million Miles Away 10/10-Probably also in my top 5 or so. Awesome chorus with the screaming. I love Kevin's voice

08. Broken Wings 11/10-Awesome song, really fits me right now. Awesome vocals, guitars, drums, everything

09. Every Part Of You 9.5/10-3rd least favorite song, again just not fast enough for my kind of music

10. The Avenue 6/10-By far the worst song on the album. Dedicated to the singers wife. Terrible track

11. Say Goodnight 10/10-Good ending to the album. Awesome vocals. Then a long pause before

SECRET TRACK Angel's Song-0/10-No point, just a bunch of like angel's humming. Filler
