4.0 out of 5 stars Sounds Good!, May 8, 2003
This review is from: Sound of the Shadows (Audio CD)
The two lead off tracks of Brazil and
Lost City are two of the best one-two
punches in the history of popular music.
This is 1965? The Beatles 65 pales compared to
the musicianship of
to Hank and the boys. I don't have a technical
knowledge of recording but I suspect the needles
were in the red on Lost City. Hank has never
gotten the credit he deserves in the states but
the shadows never played much here. The vocal tracks
as usual are throwaways. You have read many
times of all aspiring guitarists who have tried to
achieve that sad echo of Hank's strat. Don't expect
this trend to end any time soon. Mike Caldwell
