5.0 out of 5 stars I give 5 stars because
"Save Me" is an awesome song. In fact, its my favorite on this CD. Maxeen is a great band whom I think have immense talent. You should definitely check out there CD! It's awesome. [...] I think the people who decided to put Maxeen on the Sounds of Superman are very smart. They are a powerfully talented band like Superman!

3.0 out of 5 stars Ehh
If it weren't for the Paramore cover of the Foo Fighters and the great original track by The Receiving End Of Sirens I think this CD could very easily only get 2 stars. There's a decent song by the Spill Canvas and maybe one or two others at best. But I can't say I was too disappointed since I only bought this album for the TREOS song because in a way it was the last...

There's a decent song by the Spill Canvas and maybe one or two others at best. But I can't say I was too disappointed since I only bought this album for the TREOS song because in a way it was the last song they made as a band before their new line up. So if you like The Receiving End.. or just really have a thing for superman, then it's well worth the few bucks you can buy it for used.

How can you reviewers discount the song that brought me to search for this album??? I'm talking of Motion City Soundtrack's 'The Worse Part.' AHFi's track may be great but this one, is amazing. In a small way it showcases the greatness of MCS.

There are stronger songs then others but overall this cd has some very strong hits. My Favorite is Saved by The Spill Canvas. This song alone made me consider buying this bands new album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Songs About Superman? Cool, April 4, 2008

If you are a Superman nut such as I, then you will like this album. I loved every song, singing about my favorite hero. "Save Me" by Maxeen is great and catchy, and the song "Brainiac's Daughter" sounds like a classic Beatles tune. "Waitin' For A Superman" is also a great song, especially if you know the origins of the song. Overall, I think the die-hard fan would love it.

It's a fun CD to listen to when you're in a good mood.

4.0 out of 5 stars High emotion on this CD, August 19, 2006
This review is from: Sound of Superman (Audio CD)
I'm a romantic guy and although I do like a few of the songs on this CD, such as "Saved"(by The Spill Canvas), the one song that I can completely relate to is titled, simply, "Superman"(or as I just like to call it, "you don't know what it's been like") by the Receiving End of Sirens. I relate to the EXTREME strong emotion that is in the lead singer's voice as he screams "You don't know what it's been like, meeting someone like you!"; there is this girl who I like (although I'm shy and can't bring myself to talk to her) and I cry each time I listen to it because it makes me think of her and how important it is that she has struck me in my life; I want her to know that I've noticed her, let her know through the words "you don't know what it's been like meeting someone like you".

Disappointing in both technical and artistic sound. Will probably give the cd away to get it out of my collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Save the best for last, August 24, 2006
This review is from: Sound of Superman (Audio CD)
They are all great songs, but in my opinion (and isnt that really what reviews are?) is that the last song, "You're Never Gone" sums up the whole existance of Superman. 'You're never here, your never gone, but when your here our hope lives on'. The singer sounds so heartfelt that I believe she really does believe in flying superheros. Sara Routh will definately be the next "great thing" (in my opinion:) )

1.0 out of 5 stars probably would have been better if they used the original artists, February 14, 2007
This review is from: Sound of Superman (Audio CD)
Not-so super! First off, this collection has nothing to do with the Superman movie. None of these songs appear in it at all. This is actually a tribute covers album (of D-list bands) of songs written or inspired by the Superman character. I don't know about you, but I really don't see a need for it. On top of that, the songs are either plain or boring. It probably would have been better if they used the original artists, but that would have cost money. Which is really what this slapped together selection is really about.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not a great CD at all, but..., June 25, 2006
This review is from: Sound of Superman (Audio CD)
the one song that is worth the listen is from American Hi-Fi titled "The Rescue." It's a great song surrounded by a myriad of terrible ones. However, i have to disagree with the poster who called for a boycott of the new movie. Would you rather Ottoman and Singer completely copy Williams' original score? Would any of the compositions work, aside from the "Superman March?" No, they wouldn't. This is a totally new film and, in turn, it deserves a totally new score. No one should boycott the upcoming film. See it before crassly dismissing it as worthless.
