5.0 out of 5 stars Govinda - Sound Sutras, September 8, 2008
This review is from: Sound Sutras (Audio CD)
This is one CD that I can put on at work and blistfully work away to. I am into Chill, Lounge and Electronica music and this CD fits the bill. But it - you won't be sorry.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth it to me, anyway., March 7, 2011

This review is from: Sound Sutras (MP3 Download)
I'd order this again. I actually can't believe that I really do like it that much. But I can tell the novelty will wear out fast, so I will listen to it in moderation. Requires patience.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great album but it took a few listens*, January 16, 2010
This review is from: Sound Sutras (Audio CD)
When I 1st heard of a new Govinda release I purchased it even before the release date. It finally arrived & I sat down & listened to the whole album right away. My 1st take was that it was lacking some of the key highlights I loved from his album "Worlds Within". Shane seemed to be taking his style in a new direction & I wasn't sure if I would adapt or that it would be an album I'd choose over some of his previous releases. I listened again & after a few days it started to quickly catch my attention. Now after hearing it over 100 times it is a tie for 2nd place & a fantastic album in my eyes.
Now I have all of Govinda's albums & here is my list in order of the ones I enjoy most:

1.Worlds Within
2.Erotic Rhythms from Earth *or* Sound Sutras
3.Echoes of Eden
4.O'Earthly Gods
5.Entwined & Entranced

I think the lyrics are what hold the album Sound Sutras from being locked in as my #2 choice. They're still really good but the lack of foreign vocals/languages leaves a void on this album for me. But like I said before it's a fantastic album & It keeps getting better everytime I put it on. My only solid complaint is song #12 (El Sueno) I skip it everytime.

Besides song #12...I highly recommend buying this album. 5*****

*I can't wait for the next Govinda release*
